Service was not good recently I don't know what happened to staff past couple weeks but not the same experience as I received last couple years.
Backstory: my wife & I arrived 5 min in just received our drinks just started to get settled down. Not 5 minutes after I was told to pay now. Given that the waitress was swapping shifts we told them we rather not pay right away we just arrived. They didn't tell us pay now they asked us. My question is then why ask in the first place, if you already knew that we couldn't pay later. After mentioning that, we sayed yes we will pay, not too cause a disturbance. The undertrained waitress took it personally & brought the manager to give us shit.. yes!? ego trip. He clearly doesn't have control over his staff. He was putting words into our mouths. Made us feel very uncomfortable.
Really not an enjoyable experience, this is not how you treat a client. Especially someone who's been here many times & who brings you referrals. We will take our Buisness elsewhere.
P.S. the cigar lounge/resto Chez Alexandre took us in with open arms very good service & nice lounge upstairs. Thanks chez Alexandre they made our night.
Whenever I come to Montreal I grab a cigar here. Right on Crescent street, you're in the middle of the action & having a cigar on the balcony overlooking the Leonard Cohen mural is a true pleasure. Grab a martini & a stogie at Stogies, just watch the steps walking down!
Amazing atmosphere! Stogies Cigar Lounge is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a great cigar. The staff is incredibly friendly & welcoming,
they make you feel comfortable right away. The managers are very professional & attentive to every detail, which really makes a difference.
The vibes are just outstanding: music, ambiance, & people all come together to create a great experience. Highly recommended whether you're a cigar lover or just looking for something different.
My experience at Stogies Cigar Lounge was absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent, & the staff were professional & friendly. The place itself is very comfortable, with a classy & relaxing atmosphere.
I really loved it-definitely a great spot to unwind & lift your mood. Sometimes all you need is to enjoy a fine cigar with your favorite drink in such a great setting. Highly recommended!
Although the atmosphere is good & all, the waitress there is genuinely terrible. She does her job like she's supposed to & gets passive aggressive with you if you don't tip her for doing the bare minimum. I'd still go but be weary of that waitress. Hope she gets fired for hurting this place's reputation.
I really don't like leaving bad reviews for a business, but at this point I gave Stogies 3 chances & every single time it was worse than the time before.
We come there to spend money & have a good time, & instead we're met with rudeness.
Most of the problem is the security. Honestly, they're going to bring this business down. Extremely rude at the door, no professionalism, no hospitality, nothing.
The manager seems okay, but he can only do so much. The guy at the upstairs door should not be working there at all. He was extremely rude to me & my wife, completely unqualified, & wouldn't even listen when the manager was telling him to stop talking.
This used to be one of our favorite places to go as a couple, but this was definitely our last time there. This is not hospitality at all. It's the complete opposite.
