The food was bursting with authentic flavors-from the perfectly seasoned bulgogi to the rich, comforting kimchi stew. The banchan were fresh & plentiful, & everything tasted homemade & thoughtfully prepared. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, & the staff was warm & attentive. The cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely a go-to spot for Korean food cravings-can't wait to come back!
I was choosing between a few korean places & chose this one since it said it served side dishes with the meal which I did end up not receiving. HOWEVER honestly, the dakgalbi & miso soup are so freaking tasty im not even that upset. The taste is incredible
We ordered the bibimbap & Dak-Galbi. Both were delicious & completely complimented one another thus we shared each of them. The chicken was marinated & cooked perfectly & was extremely tender. the Bibimbap was cooked to perfection with loads of vegetables & crispy rice lining the stone bowl. Very generous servings that also come with a bowl of miso soup, which is excellent. The only surprising thing is that there aren't people lined up outside waiting to come in. The food is so good. The atmosphere looks a little bit like a fast food joint, but don't let that deceive you. The food is cooked to perfection & is at the level of any great Korean restaurant that we've been to. We've been here four times & can't wait to try their other dishes, but we love this one so much. It's very hard for us not to choose it when we come here.
I go often with my husband or friends . We are all vegetarian & have a pretty good choice . I usually prefer the veggie bibimbap with tofu & my husband likes the veggie sundubu or pajeon ( pancake ). It's a family restaurant with mom & dad cooking & the sons serving. I feel like I'm in Korea .,they play sift Korean ballads on the speakers , which I enjoy as I watch a lot of Korean dramas ! The food is a bit pricey but the portions are big . It's also very close to where I live in Snowdon , so we can walk there .
Amazing Korean food with extra large portions & very reasonable prices. Can't ask for anything more
Sopoong should be in your list if you want to try Korean restaurants in Montreal.
The size of each meal was worth the price & they were delicious.
We took the shrimp fried rice & the bibimbap but I'll definitely come back during the week for the lunch plates to try.
Nice server, gave a drink to my baby brother. Good bulgogi & bibimbap. Great korean fried chicken
They never dissapoint one of the most underrated korean restaurants ! :)
best Korean food in montreal, I genuinely cannot find better soondubu (tofu stew) in the area. can be a little pricey, but it's definitely worth it. the food is fresh & the flavours are amazing. the service is very casual, if you're looking for fancy dine in this isn't the place for you. their kimchi is amazing too!
The food is so good & the portions are generous. I like to go there with my friends it's because of the good ambiance & the prices. The food is so good & rich & flavor. The chicken is very crispy on the outside with tender meat inside . The tteokbokki is one of my favorite dishes because of the savory sauce that compliment the chewiness of the tteok. I recommend it a 100%. The staff is away ready to help & give very good recommendations !!! It was one of the first times eating Korean food & the images on the menu were helpful to choose my meal.
The flight time from Montreal to Seoul Korea is about 17 hours & 25 minutes, so instead of flying to Korea my wife & I decided to take a leisurely 15 minute walk to the Sopoong Korean Restaurant located on Queen Mary Road. Just for your information Sopoong means PICNIC in Korean & we definitely had a great indoor picnic at our table. We ordered 2 Korean BBQ specialties from the menu which included a tasty Miso Soup, a healthy garden salad, sticky rice, & we shared a Chicken Teriyaki Plate as well as a Bulgogi (marinated beef) Plate, both piled high with vegetables & served on a hot metal platter. Our dinner was extremely delicious & the portions were very generous so that we had enough food to take home with us for another meal. Best of all we didn't have to board a jet for another 17 hours & 25 minute flight back to Montreal, & after a pleasant 15 minute walk we were home again.
One of my top two korean fried chicken places in Montreal & I've tried humbly 80% of korean restaurants in the city.
Lovely Korean dinner with good services & great food! Their coated fried chicki is delicious 😋 Definitely worth stopping by :)
This Korean restaurant is fancier than others I've been to. It's decorated nicely with fancy designs on the ceiling & has cozy lighting. It's really clean, & the staff are super friendly & attentive. We tried the Gamjatang (Pork Bone Soup) since it was cold & rainy then we asked the waiter for a recommendation & he suggested the Crispy Fried Chicken with Onion Mayo. We also tried the Tteokbokki on skewers. The food was delicious. The chicken was crunchy, & the Onion Mayo on top was perfect. The Tteokbokki skewers were chewy & had a nice mix of spice & sweetness. The Gamjatang was good, but I've had better in Koreatown in Toronto. As with the side dishes, they only have two, I wish they added more. Banchan is my personal highlight whenever I go to a Korean Restaurant for a meal. Fair price point is a yes for me. For those seeking to dine al fresco, they added outdoor seating which is a lovely option if dining for supper. Pro tip: Avoid the parking hustle. It was really tough finding a parking spot.
Very nice people & the food is really amazing. Honestly the best Korean food I've had in Montreal.
Ok so in the world of Korean fried chicken, this place has them all beat by a mile. The chicken is cooked in a pan one order at a time & takes a little time but worth it. The seasoning is excellent & I suggest you don't opt for the variety of sauces & stick with the plain breaded version. & if you have leftovers it's great for a cold lunch the next day too. Their pickled daikon radish - Korean version is a Cole slaw is excellent. Their kimchi is super too. I have had some other hot dishes that were also very good but it's the chicken that's the absolute bomb. Please, don't pass this around to many people as I don't want my best place in the city to have this type of chicken to become too busy. Interior. Nice & decent for a date night. More a family environment. Quality. Fresh & cooked a la minute. Value. Excellent value & portions are good. Service. Pretty good. You can go in line & order & then get your table & they bring the food to you.
