Slice + Soda is widely regarded as a standout destination in Old Montreal, celebrated for its massive, New York style pizza slices that feature a perfectly thin, crispy crust and high quality toppings. Many patrons praise the efficient service, the vibrant and retro atmosphere, and the unique selection of house made sodas that complement the meal. While the space can become quite crowded due to its popularity and limited seating, the overall experience is consistently described as affordable, delicious, and a must visit for both locals and tourists alike.
One of the best! We literally saw a guy holding & eating the slice at the corner & said to ourselves -'that looks really good!' It did not disappoint. It's New York style with a crispy thin crust. Really good!
Dropped by for a slice of pizza & it tasted great. The pizza is quite thin but the crust was excellent. There are limited seating inside, & there are also merchandise you can purchase.
After visiting Notre Dame Basilica I had a craving for pizza. Slice & Soda was nearby & had great reviews. The decor has a very New York theme which I was pleasantly surprised by.
I ordered slice of BBQ chicken & it was excellent! Great crust, just enough sauce & the chicken was well seasoned.
That was a big win! The only negative is that there are maybe 12 seats so it gets crowded quickly.
I would absolutely eat here again.
The woman working the counter was really sweet & did her job really efficiently :) & the pizza had a nice crispy, thin crust with tasty topping combinations.
Whether you sre a local or visiting Montreal, this place is a must. Even ppl in our group who don't appreciate pizza that much, loved the pizza.
You don't get a pizza place which gets the crust & the toppings so right, very often. When I go to Montreal again, I am sure to visit this place again.
Slice & Soda is honestly one of Montreal's most underrated gems.
I came here after it was recommended to me by someone at the Scandinave Spa, & it absolutely lived up to the hype. I ordered the trio: a slice of pizza, a Caesar salad, & one of their house-made sodas. Everything was incredible.
I chose the Margherita pizza & it was divine - super thin crust, beautifully wood-fired, rich with olive oil, & perfectly balanced. The tomato sauce leaned slightly sweet in the best way & wasn't overly acidic or heavy like some pizza sauces can be. The basil came through beautifully, & the slice itself was HUGE. I also got a side of ranch dip, which was generous & honestly paired perfectly with both the pizza & the Caesar salad.
Speaking of the Caesar salad - fresh, delicious, & super satisfying. I ended up adding some of the ranch to it as well & it worked so well together.
The passion fruit soda ('fruit de la passion') was another standout. Fresh, house-made, lightly carbonated, refreshing, & genuinely unique.
& then… the cookies. Homemade & absolutely delicious.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere here is amazing. The vibe is vintage & retro in a really charming way, the music selection is fantastic, & the staff were incredibly kind, warm, & welcoming. You can feel the care in this place.
I would absolutely come back here again & again. If you're in downtown Montreal & want pizza that feels thoughtful, soulful, & genuinely memorable, Slice & Soda is a must.
I ordered a cheese pizza from Slice & Soda using DoorDash & it was absolutely terrible. Cheap ingredients. The cheese is bland & obviously cheap. The crust is rubbish. The pizzas are large but the quality of the cheese, crust & tomato sauce are bottom of the barrel. I will never make the mistake of ordering from them again.
