The story of SHNOOPI begins with our family, steeped in the culinary heritage of the Mediterranean countries. We grew up in Egypt, travelling a lot around other countries with whom we share the crystal blue water filled Sea, such as Italy, Greece, Lebanon, France, etc. As long as we can remember, our cuisine has always been inspired by a lot of these countries’ flavors, mixing ingredients in untraditional ways, yet representing all cultures in a harmonious way. When creating SHNOOPI, we wanted to represent and honor that heritage, as well as share the food we grew up eating with our clients.
In fact, the name SHNOOPI stands for our family’s nickname. So don’t be surprised if you here us calling each other SHNOOPI in the kitchen!
Reviews consistently describe Shnoopi as a cozy, welcoming spot with a diverse roster of sandwiches and salads, many with housemade dressings and strong gluten-free options that delight diners with celiac or gluten-sensitive needs. Guests praise generous portions, fresh ingredients, and standout items like roast beef, chicken pesto, and lobster rolls, plus tasty soups and rice pudding. Service is often described as friendly and attentive, with a lively, homey atmosphere and a pleasant terrace; however a few visits note slower service, occasional inconsistency, and some dishes feeling pricey or not as seasoned. Overall, Shnoopi comes across as a distinctive Montreal staple for creative, well-made sandwiches and reliable gluten-free choices that many would return for.
Second time here. First time we ate in & it was 5/5. Very different experience doing take out. Was extremely disappointed, they didn't taste great & didn't even bother cutting them for us. For the price, not worth coming back. These are photos of the roast beef & the goat cheese sandwiches.
Ordered vegan option sandwiches to take on the train back to Toronto. (Don't want the train food). What a great idea as this vegan sandwich was in calibre of a sandwich in Italy. Could not even consume it all. Fresh & delicious. Thanks for the vegan option !!

I tried Shnoopi at their new Griffintown location & loved it. The food was fresh, full of flavour, & felt homemade. The Greek & Chicken Pesto salads were excellent, & the Seafood Shnoopi sandwich really stood out.
Friendly service, tasty food, & a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait to stop by this location soon.
Cute little spot to grab a coffee with someone & have a small snack.
On the food side, nothing'wow,' just okay.
I had a chicken sandwich - it was so-so, nothing more.
The Caesar salad was fine, but again just okay. Maybe I should have tried their shrimp sandwich instead...
Sorry it took me so long to write this review! I was there late last year.
We absolutely loved Shnoopi.
As a Coeliac, I struggle to find places that can properly accommodate a full gluten free experience. Shnoopi had me covered. Not only does their gluten free bread TASTE LIKE ACTUAL DELICIOUS BREAD, the fillings were also delicious. Highly recommended.
What they do so well is focus on the basics, but make them as tasty as possible. I came back three days in a row on a trip to Montreal that lasted 6 days.
I ate the:
- Roast beef sandwich 10/10
- Chicken Tahini sandwich 10/10
- Goats cheese sandwich 10/10
- Hot Chocolate 50/10
- Tea 10/10
- Rice Pudding 100/10
What a gift to have found this place, & if I ever come back to Montreal, I will be back to Shnoopi's. It's not a place you can easily forget, just writing this review had me salivating.
This was truly an exceptional experience, & I feel that five stars do not fully capture its taste. The roasted beef sandwich was, without a doubt, the best sandwich I have ever had. It was simply amazing!

I came to this petite establishment that takes on the appearance of a bright café but features in sandwiches & pastas. I went for the signature Shnoopi sandwich as it seemed like a very unique combination of ingredients. I was very pleased with the savory truffle. But the shrimp I was not fond of, it was unseasoned cocktail shrimps in the sandwich & they were served far too cold. The frigidness the ice cold shrimp brought to each bite retracted from the taste but overall it was still enjoyable. They could go on using the same shrimp & even cold, but goodness not THAT cold! 🧊 At least the service was very good as well.
