The story of SHNOOPI begins with our family, steeped in the culinary heritage of the Mediterranean countries. We grew up in Egypt, travelling a lot around other countries with whom we share the crystal blue water filled Sea, such as Italy, Greece, Lebanon, France, etc. As long as we can remember, our cuisine has always been inspired by a lot of these countries’ flavors, mixing ingredients in untraditional ways, yet representing all cultures in a harmonious way. When creating SHNOOPI, we wanted to represent and honor that heritage, as well as share the food we grew up eating with our clients.
In fact, the name SHNOOPI stands for our family’s nickname. So don’t be surprised if you here us calling each other SHNOOPI in the kitchen!
Reviews consistently describe Shnoopi as a cozy, welcoming spot with a diverse roster of sandwiches and salads, many with housemade dressings and strong gluten-free options that delight diners with celiac or gluten-sensitive needs. Guests praise generous portions, fresh ingredients, and standout items like roast beef, chicken pesto, and lobster rolls, plus tasty soups and rice pudding. Service is often described as friendly and attentive, with a lively, homey atmosphere and a pleasant terrace; however a few visits note slower service, occasional inconsistency, and some dishes feeling pricey or not as seasoned. Overall, Shnoopi comes across as a distinctive Montreal staple for creative, well-made sandwiches and reliable gluten-free choices that many would return for.
The lighting is a little intense but with it, you will be able to read their extensive selection of mouthwatering sandwichs loaded with the best creative combinations of ingredients. The bread is fresh & grilled to the perfect crisp. I could go on but I'll resume: When I want a sandwich, this is EXACTLY what I mean!
Loved our experience here. The service was attentive but relaxed. We got the pesto sandwich & the roast beef sandwich, which were both great. The roast beef was interesting & flavorful, the pesto was fresh & vibrant. Would love to visit again

Visited during a recent trip to Old Montreal & found this through a YouTube review of Montreal. The restaurant offers freshly made sandwiches & salads alongside a few daily specials in a cafe-like environment. While they are known for their Shnoopi sandwich (consisting of shrimp, feta & truffle), their Sirloin sandwich is also a great option as well. The Sirloin sandwich comes with slow cooked beef sirloin strips marinated along with tomatoes, onions & olives. The sandwich came warm & freshly made once ordered, with the sirloin strips being quite tender & was a decent mix of flavours. Price for the sandwich was fair considering other offerings in the area which is popular among tourists (due to it being Old Montreal). Overall, this is a decent lunch spot in the Old Montreal area either as sit down or for takeout if looking for something simpler or more fast casual.
A great casual, family-owned & run restaurant. Good food & service, including some family recipes. The owner's mother is the chef. Try the rice pudding!
My family & I were visiting Montreal from Toronto & came across this cafe. Everything was so good! Will definitely recommend to all my friends & family ♥️
Stopped by here after scoping this place out over a year because of the name alone. I had to try the OG Shnoopi sandwich & I was amazed. Easily top five sandwich I have ever had, & as a fat guy, I've had my fair share of sandwiches. The staff also recommended Egyptian rice pudding ... equally amazing as the Shnoopi. I highly recommend this place, they spoke perfect English, which is nice for an uncultured'Murican like me.

The Shnoopi sandwich is one of the best, & most innovative sandwiches I've ever had! I'm a big truffle fan, but this was probably my favorite dish that includes truffle. It wasn't overpowering, it was just right. Perfect balance of fresh ingredients. Warm & soft bread with a perfectly crunchy crust, but not so much that it tears your mouth up! We also had the Chicken & Artichoke Salad. Giant, delicious chunks of grilled chicken, feta, artichoke hearts, etc., tossed in an amazing vinaigrette. Also, don't forget to order the rice pudding. It's seems like it should be dense, but it was very light & delicious. They top it with cinnamon & pistachios, & I don't think I can eat any other rice pudding after eating at Shnoopi's! Also, the staff is fantastic. I don't know what else to say about them. Just wonderful. Do not hesitate to eat here!!! Amazing food & wonderful prices!
Beautiful quaint spot. Loved the vibe. & of course the chicken pesto sandwich was topnotch. Chicken was one of the juiciest i have ever had. Flavors were just right. Bread was toasted to perfection. I hope i get to visit them again.

I had the Shnoopi & it was amazing. Large shrimp, fantastic herbed cream & an amazing bun. Terri had the roast beef sandwich recommended by the waitress's. It was excellent!
We walked by when they were closed, so we came back the next day & it was so worth it! We shared the Caprese sandwich which was amazing. We also shared the rice pudding dessert which was FANTASTIC! I wanted to like out the container afterwards! Service was amazing. They are a great team! Very friendly & helpful! A definite must for salads, sandwiches, soup & do not forget the rice pudding! Will definitely be back again & again!!!
WOW! We were impressed with the reviews & we were NOT disappointed. Everything we ordered was better than expected, & super affordable - especially here in old Montreal. The Shnoopi sandwich was the star of the show. Plus a nice vibe & impeccable service. Highly recommend!
We loved this place! The food was great, & they were enthusiastically accommodating to a party of 6 that included two small children. Casual atmosphere that served delicious, but reasonably priced food. We went back the next night when the restaurant we had reserved didn't work out.
