Every time I go I try something new & it's always excellent. Everything tasty & colorful, vegan or not you will like this place. The people who worked where were super nice & even recommended some food to us.
Beautiful spot with amazing food. The falafels are the best I've ever tried. Super happy to be able to try Syrian food as a vegan. It's usually very hard to try different cuisines as a vegetarian, & a place like this is a good way to try it. Highly recommend for everyone to try.
We each ordered a skewer plate, including the lamb, chicken, Turmeric chicken & the shami kebab. Everything was absolutely scrumptious! They took care with the presentation, the portions were generous, & the service was exceptional. We ordered a Pineapple juice & a strawberry juice. They are very large, fresh & soooo delicious!!! Given all of these positive points, we didn't mind that it was a little pricey, the quality totally justified it! We will return!
The options this restaurant offer are a rare find, since it's vegan: traditionally, a vast majority of the Syrian cuisine is composed of beef/chicken. So as a Lebanese, I couldn't help but feel like something's missing in the dishes, probably because old habits die hard: everything was, to my taste, good but nothing exceptional. However, the chef did a really good job with the shawarma: its taste's very similar to the OG one made with real chicken. My least favourite dish was the "kibbeh nayyeh": its flavour reminded me of a whole other dish called "bourghoul a banadoura", which should have nothing to do with this (but I can understand the creative idea behind it!). The waitress was adorable & accommodated our needs in the most gentle of ways.
We came for lunch on the terasse. All the staff were welcoming & friendly. They were very happy to explain & recommend dishes. We had the kebab & lamb skewers along side the Mulukhiyah: Everything was flavourful, well presented & fresh. Definitely the best vegan meats we have had on the island! The cocktail I was recommended ( the Damascus blossom) was well balanced & paired well with the meal. 10/10 recommend
I had an exceptional experience at this vegan restaurant. Whether seated inside or on the terrace, the pleasant weather made it enjoyable. The open kitchen provided an engaging view of meal preparation, & the staff maintained cleanliness with hairnets. As a vegan restaurant, its diverse, intriguing, & delicious menu is served in beautiful, high-quality dishes. Everything was clean, with fresh ingredients & hot meals. The owners, a kind Syrian & Moroccan couple, add authentic decorations, including impressive handmade artworks. Highly recommended.
I will start by saying that the food is ok. Nothing crazy but not bad either. Many places around or on par & of course some others much better. I waited 2 minutes to be seated at the door, nobody came so I decided to sit on the terrace. After about another 2-3 minutes, nobody came , so I picked up the food & drinks menu from the table next to me ( still uncleaned after the last customers ). For fifteen minutes nobody came ( despite only having 8 customers on the terrace & 6 inside ) so I finally raised my hand ( don't like doing this ); to call a lady. Smiling she said she is coming . One minute later she came with a glass of water so I was ok, as she was all smiles. She left & said she will be back to take my order if I am ready. I said yes. 5 minutes passed & she forgot. I called her again. She came apologizing & took my order. I asked for a beer but she said she will send somebody else " who knows ". I told her I know what I want but she insisted on sending somebody else. A very nice guy arrived & asked me in English what beer I wanted. I pointed at the menu & showed him the 1 st beer on the menu - blonde tchèque. He apologized & said no more. I asked him another blonde & he said the same. I asked for a third one & he said the same. He apologized & said the season " has started " & there are less choices. Here I am asking for my 4th beer from the menu & the same answer. At this point he asked me if I like blonde beer ...& said yes. So he says , I will bring you one that you will like. I am like...ok. He brings a Gagellan. I told him I hope I like it. He smiled & left. Came back , open the can & filed my glass. When I tasted it...not good. Not a blonde but a red, & very citrus flavour. I got my food, ate my food , my beer glass was still full. Nobody came to ask if I liked the food or the beer. I hurry up to finish the food & leave. I chased them to get the bill & after another 10 minutes I finally got it . Nobody asked anything. If I liked the food or the drink...although my beer glass is still full & so is the can. Not going to give service classes here...but I think these are some basic rules. Nice terrace for summer days. I think as well, very short staff. Verdict : neutral towards no.
& merci 🙏
Went there for the first time & loved the food. The dishes were colourful, flavourful & plated nicely. Portions are also generous which is nice. The staff is extremely friendly & attentive & the restaurant decor is inviting as well. I will definitely be going back!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. On their Syrian specialties, try the Mulukhiyah 🤩: i have had it 3 times already
