We went to this place just wanting to try Syrian cuisine for the first time. I have to say it was a very nice experience. The service was really nice & they made us some things accommodating our taste & request. We ordered a shawarma plate with chicken & mushrooms & mulakhiya plus hummus & pita for our little one. Taste was amazing. The patio was nice but I would suggest getting better tables since ours was wobbly. Overall excellent
AWESOME!!! Food was so tasty. The staff was SO hospitable & kind. Had a blast for brunch after our bachelor party weekend. Fixed price mystery meal was amazing.
I am half Syrian & have not had a lot of this food since I turned vegetarian. Felt very authentic (which is hard to do with these meat heavy dishes)!!! so amazing :)
Service was great & eating on the terrasse was definitely very pleasant.
However, food was only ok composed of fries, rice, salad & the vegan meat (that was good).
I have been to syrian restaurant like Damas but I would compare this more to casa grec but vegan.
They did offer some morrocan mint tea at the end (nice touch) but overall food, wine/beer were a bit too pricey.
I will most likely not go back.

What an incredible experience at Sham Mont Royal! This was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, beautifully presented, & prepared with great care. The food tasted fresh, homemade, & absolutely delicious from start to finish.
The service was warm, welcoming, & attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It's not easy to find a place that delivers such amazing quality in both food & hospitality, but Sham truly exceeded my expectations.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Syrian cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back, & I can't wait to enjoy another amazing meal. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!
The Chef's Surprise multi-course meal was phenomenal! Every dish was flavorful, complex, & super delicious. The drinks were also great, especially the mango juice & the Syrian coffee. & the baklava was divine.
Our server was extremely friendly, took the time to answer all of our questions, & gave us great suggestions. The service was a bit slow (2.5 hours total for dinner), but I know many people prefer a leisurely meal.
The ambiance was awesome! It was open air to the street, 60ish degrees F, the decor inside the restaurant, was lovely, & the music was very pretty & relaxing.
This was honestly probably the best restaurant dinner we have ever had in our lives. I would definitely recommend this place as a must-try for vegetarians & vegans visiting Montreal.
What a lovely restaurant! Great food, good Syrian coffee. We happen to be plant based, but honestly it would satisfy literally ANYONE. The owners & staff are warm & welcoming. Food is very tasty, fresh & a great variety. Don't skip this spot!
I visited Sham for my birthday & had the best experience. The servers were super friendly & I was given a fez hat to wear during my meal. I shared the Syrian grill tasting & also got the blackberry juice. The tasting menu was perfect for trying many dishes. I also got baklava for dessert & got a little chocolate cake for my birthday. 10/10 experience, I would definitely return. Thank you!
HIGHLY recommend this Syrian restaurant that is entirely vegan! My friend & I wanted to try out this place last month & we were thoroughly impressed. We ordered the'Plate 2 Skewers' from the'From the grill' section. I chose the lamb & spicy chicken flavours for the skewers - they were both so tasty! It came with crispy fries, rice, & salad. The portion is huge, but definitely doable in one sitting, so come with an appetite! What made our experience that much better was our server, Halima. She was very smiley & dancey with us. So personable, kind, & fun. She even brought us complimentary desserts. We had a blast interacting with her! We would come back solely for her!
If you are vegan you might like this place but if, like us, you are the friends of a vegan person who suggested this place for dinner, & if you're used to traditional Syrian food with real meat & real flavours, you will find the food unappealing & a bit gross. No amount of'fake chicken' made with soy or mushroom can replace the taste & texture of real shish taouk. Otherwise the restaurant is ok, service is friendly if not a bit pushy at times (they will push you to order specific items on the menu that are on the pricy side, & they will push you to leave a review before leaving). It's also on the expensive side & not great value for your money (Middle Eastern food is typically known for its generous portions).
