We went this morning with our dog to grab some brunch & sit on the terrace. The food was all amazing; we loved the Portuguese bread & the americano coffee! Its very good quality for very reasonable prices, & still has a lot of the same charm it used to!

Delightfully surprised!! We were walking our dog around Girouard Park last evening & I mentioned that I'd never seen the Shaika cafe before. The tables outside were full of people, & it had a nice vibe; turns out, it had only just re-opened under new management last month, having been closed for about five years. I intentionally walked past again today & even with rain, the place was full, with a short line-up for take-out orders. By 4:00, my daughter & I were happily seated, drinking (me) an espresso, & (her) a brandy coffee - they were both hits! Then we devoured a piece of moist, rich cheesecake! Seeing the meals coming out of the kitchen (not to mention the extraordinary low prices!), we have vowed to return soon!
Here's to great ambience, super-friendly staff, terrific music, delicious food & drink, & more than reasonable prices..!!
New fave spot, unlocked! We'll be back, soon!!

There's nothing bad to say about this place went there today not once but twice the sandwiches are amazing coffee was great prices are great
Its a must go back & my husband & I went there with my sister inlaw & for the staff like Tony the tiger would say there grrrrrrreat

I want to love this place so badly, I keep coming back hoping it will be better but it's always the same disorganized chaotic experience.

Maybe if I ordered food & sat down rather than trying to get drinks to go it would be better.

The coffee is fantastic! The smoothies are $8.00 cups of milk with ice & a whisper of fruit. But now they have affogato so I will give them one more chance.

You know its a good cafe when their only problem is that they don't have enough coffee machines to keep up with demand! Keep it up! NDG

Absolutely dynamite mix of Portuguese & Greek sandwiches/salads, plus coffee & breakfast items. Plus cocktails. & it's all...affordable?! The staff is super friendly, & we got a chance to chat with the owner, who went over the top in making sure we were taken care of. & had a great sense of humor. All around great experience!

I'm so glad Shaika is back!! They came back with the same charm, slightly updated.
The Old Orchard sandwich was delicious (& a generous portion). Now I have to go back for a coffee & piece of red velvet cake.

They also told me they're reincorporating comedy/open mic nights soon!

My favourite neighbourhood spot, we were missing them.

Top-class coffee beans used here. Their cake slices are HUGE for 9.99$ & made with quality ingredients I can tell. Well worth the price. Staff was super friendly & accomodating. Will def come back!

I'm so glad Shaika is back!! I went to support. I got a slice of their carrot cake & a feijao (a little tarte with sweet bean paste I think? It was very good!). The carrot cake is moist & decadent. I got both to go, but I can't wait to sit down & try the coffee!
