Sésame offers a concept unique in its kind: an out of the ordinary variety of high quality Asian dishes to enjoy in a warm atmosphere.
From the Pad Thai to the General Tao poutine, or one of the various wok sautées, you can eat your meal on site or take it to go.
Additionally, Sésame offers a wide selection of loose teas, several privately imported wines, beers on tap, a wide selection of sake, but especially, a menu of exclusive Sésame cocktails.
Sésame is a well-regarded restaurant that is frequently praised for its fresh, flavorful pan-Asian dishes, with popular items like the General Tao chicken, poke bowls, and creative mocktails often highlighted. The restaurant serves as a convenient and popular dining destination, particularly for those attending events in the downtown area. While many guests enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, pleasant decor, and efficient service provided by the friendly staff, some visitors have noted inconsistencies regarding noise levels, occasional service delays, or portion sizes. Despite these mixed experiences, many patrons consider it a reliable go-to spot and frequently express their intention to return due to the overall quality of the food and the professional, accommodating nature of the team.
We were looked after by Aglaé & Carl. Both were efficient & friendly. They respected our request to enjoy our cocktails before ordering the food. I ordered the small Thai Coco soup & the peanut butter wonton. Both were delicious as were the drinks. The Orange wine was a nice find.
Reasonably priced considering the location. It was my first visit & won't be my last !
It's always good!! I ordered the Shrimp pad Thai, in my opinion it's a little bit too sweet for mee, but that's my teast. I will return to this place for sure!
Quel service incroyable!
Had a delicious dinner here. Comfortable dining area with option to dine on outdoor patio. They have a mix of pan Asian dishes & did everything well. They had meals for 2-4 but we ordered a few items off the regular menu apps, mains & desserts. We had a round of beautiful cocktails/sake flight & then ordered or my son first: the shrimp tempura & fried rice no protein. These were both outstanding; tempura was so crispy & drizzled with spicy & savory sauces - fried rice was savory & bold giving mild Pad Thai flavors topped with peanuts.
Mains started with the juicy Pork & kimchi dumplings; Crispy Orange beef; Salmon tartare with green salad dressed in a creamy sesame dressing; MIL ordered the sampler as main that included Papaya salad/Wontons/shrimp tempura/Vegetable spring rolls with fish sauce. Finished with desserts: green tea & black sesame ice cream & key lime pie.
Had the Pad Thai & the Papaya Salad. Both were bland, lacking in the flavours I usually expect.
Service was good & we got seated quickly on a busy night.
