Le SAO SAO est un restaurant familial vietnamien chaleureux, convivial et en prime «apportez votre vin» ouvert depuis plus de 10 ans à Brossard. Chaque rouleau, bouillon, sauce, brochette est préparé et concocté avec amour par notre Mama Thi fidèle aux traditions et au fourneau depuis toutes ces années.
Les avis sur Sao Sao convergent vers une cuisine vietnamienne généreuse et fraîche, avec des pho et des plats variés appréciés pour leurs saveurs et leurs portions importantes à prix raisonnables; l'ambiance est souvent décrite comme agréable et conviviale, adaptée aux sorties entre amis ou en famille, et le service rapide et souriant est fréquemment mentionné, avec la possibilité de take-out et de menu enfant. I came to have lunch & to order a take-out lunch. I liked the food, the grilled chicken with rice vermicelli etc., a bit of water at the bottom of my bowl at the end, the sauce offered is good but sticks a little to the vermicelli etc. The coffee comes with the lunch, but I had to ask for it at the end of my meal & despite having paid for two meals, I only got one coffee. Good coffee though. The salad portion with the meals is a bit bland, I don't know if it's the preparation or if it's put in the fridge well in advance of the service. The pork is good, but be careful for people who don't like strong ginger or lemongrass marinades. The spring rolls are good but have a lot of grated carrot. A bit small too. I think the option of taking or not taking the bean sprouts & lime next to the bowls of soup would be appropriate, to reduce food waste. I liked the somewhat discreet service less, but it may be my style & preferences in terms of customer service or that I am a Millennial. I will go back with my partner, I will try something else, the chicken sandwich is good - even better with an addition of sriracha to consider! Venue pour manger un repas sur l'heure du midi & pour commander un repas midi pour apportez. J'ai aimé la nourriture, le poulet grillé avec vermicelle de riz etc, un peu d'eau au fond de mon bol à la fin, la sauce offerte est bonne mais colle peu au vermicelle etc. Le café vient avec le repas du midi, mais j'ai dû le demander à la fin de mon repas & malgré avoir payé pour deux repas, je n'ai eu qu'un seul café. Bon café cependant. La salade en portion avec les repas est un peu sans goût, je ne sais pas si c'est la préparation ou qu'elle soit mise au frigo très en avance sur le service. Le porc est bon, mais attention aux gens qui n'aiment pas tant les marinades fortes en gingembre ou lemongrass. Les rouleaux impériaux sont bons mais ont beaucoup de carotte râpée. Un peu petits aussi. Je pense que l'option de prendre ou non les fèves germées & lime en accotes des bols de soupe seraient de mise, pour réduire le gaspillage alimentaire. J'ai moins aimé le service un peu effacé, mais c'est peu être mon style & préférences en matière de service à la clientèle ou que je suis une Millenniale. J'y retournerai avec mon partenaire, j'essaierai autre chose, le sandwich au poulet est bon - encore plus avec un ajout de siriracha à noter!
Let's give the compliment where is due. The Place looks great, the menu has great potential. The items looked attractive & well thought out. But for us the most important point is the execution/taste of the food. & somewhat the service. We tried the curry chicken. The beef pho, the bun chicken bowl & the chicken vermicelli soupe/pho. Overall the taste of food was very disappointing. - The curry is too acidic, flavour profile not well balanced & not very complexe. We love Asian curries. Have tried 30+ Asian curry restaurant in Canada, & 50+ asians curries around the world. This is one of the worst. - the bun don't have enough authentic sauce/punch of flavour. It was rather blend. - the soups are good enough. Probably the best item out of what we were able to try at the restaurant. But after trying at least 20+ Vietnamese restaurant around Montreal. I would say it's a little below average. Ingredients are fresh. No problem there. The decors are cute. The service was slow, but the servers are nice & came to apologies a few times as they forgot us a few times & spilled hot soupe almost on my toodler. Overall feels this restaurant has potential, but definitely need a few adjustment in term of flavour execution.

Very slow service. Food is not on par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the Greater Montreal area. I needed to get some extra food after the meal because the portion was small.
Super bon! Ingredients frais! J'apprécie que la majorité des plats peuvent être vegétarien avec l'ajout de tofu. Cocktail très bon. Employées sympathique! Nous reviendrons certainement😊
I wanted to like this place, I really did. MC pho is my Brossard go-to pho restaurant but it's closed today, I guess it wouldn't hurt if I'd try a new place, Sao Sao was jumping to my face, however it didn't stand up to my expectation...at all. The restaurant is actually well decorated. The server was nice & cute, too. BUT, the spicy beef rice noodles, also known as bun bow hue, were a big miss to me. First of all, the noodles were way too undercooked. When it comes to cook these kind of thick rice noodles , you have to soak them into hot water for a couple of hours ( at least 30 minutes), then you can cook them into perfection, however, I don't think the cook here knows this technique like every other pho restaurants out there. The rice noodles are too hard to chew. Even bending them is difficult. Second, the broth was not even hot, not tasty at all. This lemongrass flavor was missing, due to the lemongrass chunck that they use was sitting in the fridge too long, I assume. & the meat was nearly fresh, for spicy beef soup , I don't expect lots of flavorless prok stew in there. Big disappointment. The curry chicken bowl (p4)was pretty standard. That was the only reason that I rate this place 3 stars. Oh, one last thing, they don't have basil ...
Vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist. Food is good but not 100% authentic. Service could be better - we requested English menus but never got them from the server, so we ordered by guessing the French menu.
Les plats étaient excellents comme toujours, & le service chaleureux, c'est vraiment notre valeur sûre. La cuisine & authentique & savoureuse je recommande à 100%
J'ai adoré mon expérience au Petit Sao de Brossard! Nous y avons été en famille pour le brunch & tout était délicieux! Nous avons pris l'os: la présentation était incroyable & le goût aussi, les nems sont toujours délicieux & le gravlax de saumon vraiment très bon, belle présentation & saveurs originales. Le service était excellent & j'ai beaucoup aimé la décoration, très jolies couleurs & belle ambiance! Je recommande ce restaurant & j'y retournerai c'est certain!
Nous etions des clients extrêmement réguliers mais depuis les nouveaux propriétaires & les changements de prix extrême & la qualité dmarde qui donnes mtnt je met pu un pied la ! Enplus il n'y a plus de boeuf au menu ciao bye la gang

Très bon restaurant les entrées sont excellents les portions pour les repas sont généreux style thaï( je recommence fortement ce petit restaurant... je donne 5 étoiles & plus)👍😘🦋... prix raisonnable
Un samedi soir, 20h, nous sommes les seuls clients, salle calme, serveurs sympa, service rapide, la nourriture est bonne mais manque de saveurs, le général Sao manque énormément de sauce, il est sec, vraiment dommage. Les nems sont excellent, wotton aussi. Gros bémol pour les toilettes vraiment très très sale malheureusement
Au petit Sao j'ai enfin trouvé la meilleure soupe Pho de la rive-sud & le service était parfait. Super ambiance & à un prix vraiment abordable. Je recommande ce restaurant à tous le monde.
My friend & I were at dix30 & debating on what to eat for lunch since everything (or almost) is expensive over there. We decided to go to Sao Sao on a whim, I had never tried it but she had. It was a HOT summer day in the middle of August & the waiter advised before even giving us a table that the AC was broken which was thoughtful. They had fans on so it wasn't too bad. I had a Gi cun roll as an entree, & it was delicious! I could've eaten two or three of these & would've been full! The sauce they gave you with it was also incredible. As the main plate, I had Bò nng with rice & the little salad. It was grilled beef with its own spices & seasoning. It was truly delicious, & it filled me up, definitely worth the price I paid! All in all, the prices are very low & the portion size is generous! The restaurant itself isn't the fanciest in its decoration or ambience, but it's cosy enough, & I would recommend trying it on an evening & getting different plates to try. Definitely will go again!
