The Resto Café Oxford on Sherbrooke in N.D.G. has been open since 1944, and has ever since transformed into not only a breakfast place but also a restaurant that has added many new items to the menu including steaks, salads, grilled chicken, submarines and popular Italian dishes such as many pasta, parmigiano, brushketta and more.

They sell a wide variety of breakfast specials including bacon and eggs, French toast, eggs Benedict's and what is known to be one of the best pancakes in Montreal.

Avoid. So many problems.
- Owners are rude. Really defensive if you point out anything that might be an issue.
- Unlike every other breakfast place, coffee is not included in price of meal & is overpriced at $2.35 for basic coffee. You'll only find this out once you get the bill.
- Breakfast is generic, like something you would find at a hotels all you can eat buffet.
- Not very clean.

It was the first time coming to brunch at this resto, & we were pleased with the quality. We were a group of 7 (including 3 children) & everyone enjoyed their meal (pancakes, French toast, eggs...). However, we were disappointed with the customer service regarding the 15% discount coupon that was offered via the Resto-Montreal site. Both parties downloaded it on our cell phones & presented it to the waitress upon ordering, as indicated in the instructions. However, at check-out, the coupon was not honored at all. We were told several excuses to either make us feel that we in fact did get a deal, or to place the blame on us: example: "the coffee was not charged", "only one coupon per table allowed", "the coupon was not presented at the cash", "the menu states the coffee will be charged if another deal is presented". Sadly, these statements are not supported anywhere, regardless of the owners' claims. We walked out feeling dizzy by the run-around we were given, & the coupons were not honored for either party. It is unfortunate that a long-standing business such as this one goes through these lengths to get new customers, yet does not know how to keep them. Although the quality of the meal was good, the quality of the service was not close enough to make us want to go back.

I've been to this restaurant several times for breakfast & the food is exquisite. The eggs benedict are a must. Service is family friendly. They've been around for a long time & hats off to them for maintaining such a fantastic level of quality.
