For people living in the NDG district of Montreal, the name Resto Café Oxford conjures up images of what many have described as the best breakfast in Montreal and, in a city filled with breakfast places, that's sure saying a lot! The Resto Café Oxford on Sherbrooke in N.D.G. has been open since 1944, and has ever since transformed into not only a breakfast place but also a restaurant that has added many new items to the menu including steaks, salads, grilled chicken, submarines and popular Italian dishes such as many pasta, parmigiano, brushketta and more.
They sell a wide variety of breakfast specials including bacon and eggs, French toast, eggs Benedict's and what is known to be one of the best pancakes in Montreal.
Resto Café Oxford offers a cozy vintage vibe and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where homemade quality and generous portions meet affordable prices. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and classic brunch staples like the Elvis sandwich are consistently praised for being tasty and satisfying. The space feels intimate and charming with nostalgic decor and genuine hospitality that makes guests feel at home, thanks to the friendly owners. Overall, the experience comes across as reliable, comforting, and memorable, making it a go-to spot for brunch and casual meals.
Si vous avez envie d'un café ou d'un brunch tranquille dans un endroit au style vintage, c'est le bon coin. J'aime ce genre d'endroits, authentiques, simples & accueillants.
This place is an absolute gem! The brunch was fresh, clean, & incredibly delicious - you can really taste the homemade quality in every bite. The café itself is cozy & welcoming, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
What truly sets this place apart is the soul it has - it's not just another brunch spot. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuine warmth & hospitality, & everything from the decor to the service feels thoughtful & special.
It's unique, heartfelt, & truly memorable. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing & authentic brunch experience

I don't know what some of these recent reviews are talking about, had nothing but great service here. The food is delicious & affordable & the owners are friendly & inviting. Lovely mom & pop brunch place.
Favourite mom & pop brunch spot in all of Montreal! I've been coming to Oxford for years now & it's always a wonderful experience. The owners are so sweet & welcoming & the restaurant is filled with so much charm. I always get their pancakes because they are THE BEST you have to try them!!!
Delicious & homey breakfast deli, with affordable options & generous portions. The Super Combo was the way to go with all the options. The Staff & servers were respectful & attentive. Not busy at brunch during weekdays, place is small so I imagine can fill up quickly. Plenty of parking too. Will come back for sure for those delicious pancakes yum
Been here a few time for brunch & loved each visit! The pancakes & eggs benny are two personal favourites of mine! Love the Elvis inspiration & the ode to Montreal over the years. The older gentleman that I believe is the owner is very kind as well. Perfect spot for NDG, will go back again!

underrated gem in ndg. small business vibes, affordable prices, generous serving sizes, great food, lavish fruit arrangements, homemade potpouri, & wonderful human service—the other breakfast brunch spots in ndg don't compare
Very very rude Staff, i walked in with my lil one & saw one of the staff member literally lashed on coustmer as she put coffee by herself. The lady who came to served me suddenly got really really rude with me when i just made sure that there will be no meat in my food. Brunch was highly expensive for the quantity & quality they provided . It is BIG NO for me for the food standard & service they are providing!
It was the first time coming to brunch at this resto, & we were pleased with the quality. We were a group of 7 (including 3 children) & everyone enjoyed their meal (pancakes, French toast, eggs...). However, we were disappointed with the customer service regarding the 15% discount coupon that was offered via the Resto-Montreal site. Both parties downloaded it on our cell phones & presented it to the waitress upon ordering, as indicated in the instructions. However, at check-out, the coupon was not honored at all. We were told several excuses to either make us feel that we in fact did get a deal, or to place the blame on us: example: "the coffee was not charged", "only one coupon per table allowed", "the coupon was not presented at the cash", "the menu states the coffee will be charged if another deal is presented". Sadly, these statements are not supported anywhere, regardless of the owners' claims. We walked out feeling dizzy by the run-around we were given, & the coupons were not honored for either party. It is unfortunate that a long-standing business such as this one goes through these lengths to get new customers, yet does not know how to keep them. Although the quality of the meal was good, the quality of the service was not close enough to make us want to go back.
