It all starts with freshly cut thick fries, a generous portion of cheese curds, the type that's squeaky delicious, topped with their signature gravy. If you're in Montréal, or heading there, you should drop by Votre Maison a try the poutine that everyone is raving about ... just keep in mind it's really filling.
We had a great experience here. The poutine was delicious, the gravy was rich & flavorful, & they were very generous with the cheese curds, which tasted fresh. The hot dog was also very tasty, & the portions were satisfying for the price. The atmosphere was good & the restaurant is very affordable with reasonable prices. Overall, we were happy with everything & would definitely come back again.
Finally tried this place that went viral for their poutine. It was so busy for a random Thursday night. The poutine was sublime: generous portion of cheese & you could tell it was fresh fresh fresh. The gravy sauce was a bit different from your traditional one. This one had paprika in it, which lightened it somehow. The Greek salad on the side was very important to help finish that poutine. The feta they used in the salad was top quality & creamy, not dry & crumbly. The vegetables were crunchy & fresh. The gyro was amazing but in big competition with the poutine to be honest. I would definitely come back when craving poutine!
So I finally went & bought a poutine to see what everyone was talking about. So it's good however I def prefer two poutines from two other restos for their sauce, but the fries here are great!. I also got a cheeseburger & that is very good.. the meat is like a smash burger & I love that it's a homemade patty. My bf got the pork pita club & it was fantastic. So overall we enjoyed the food very much but I'd go back for something other then the poutine because other then the nice quantity of cheese, I didn't find anything special about the sauce & for me that is what sets a poutine apart from others.
Delicious & comforting food that just hits the spot. The poutine is an absolute must. Love the squeaky cheese & their sauce!
We stopped by to finally try the famous poutine after hearing it's one of the best spots in Quebec.
The portion was generous, the fries were good, & the cheese curds were nice & melty. Overall I'd give it a 4/5, I personally prefer a richer beef-style gravy.
The prices are also really reasonable for the amount of food you get, so it's easy to see why this place has such a strong reputation & such high ratings. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area & doing a little poutine tour or need some comfort food.
D'habitude cet endroit est très réputé, mais cet après midi, la poutine & cheeseburger as ruiné le reste de ma journée..
Amazing food & the price is unbelievable. We paid 33$ for 2 including tips & we were full. The poutine is a MUST!! Perfect squeeky fresh cheese, homemade fries & a well balanced gravy to bring it all together.
Despite the store being packed, service was very quick. I recommend 100%!
Amazing Gyro, poutine is visually mouth watery & the cheese quantity is definitely generous. The area that I personally believe needs improvement is the poutine gravy. Its thin & has a taste of BBQ-sauce. A good gravy should be thicker, & a deep & rich umami/stock flavor than BBQ sauce. It is also lacking salt (either on the fries or sauce). It was a let down. If the sauce can change, it would be the best poutine hands down.
