So it's good however I def prefer two poutines from two other restos for their sauce, but the fries here are great!. I also got a cheeseburger & that is very good.. the meat is like a smash burger & I love that it's a homemade patty. My bf got the pork pita club & it was fantastic. So overall we enjoyed the food very much but I'd go back for something other then the poutine because other then the nice quantity of cheese, I didn't find anything special about the sauce & for me that is what sets a poutine apart from others.
Delicious & comforting food that just hits the spot. The poutine is an absolute must. Love the squeaky cheese & their sauce!
D'habitude cet endroit est très réputé, mais cet après midi, la poutine & cheeseburger as ruiné le reste de ma journée..
We stopped by to finally try the famous poutine after hearing it's one of the best spots in Quebec.
The portion was generous, the fries were good, & the cheese curds were nice & melty. Overall I'd give it a 4/5, I personally prefer a richer beef-style gravy.
The prices are also really reasonable for the amount of food you get, so it's easy to see why this place has such a strong reputation & such high ratings. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area & doing a little poutine tour or need some comfort food.
Amazing food & the price is unbelievable. We paid 33$ for 2 including tips & we were full. The poutine is a MUST!! Perfect squeeky fresh cheese, homemade fries & a well balanced gravy to bring it all together.
Despite the store being packed, service was very quick. I recommend 100%!
Amazing Gyro, poutine is visually mouth watery & the cheese quantity is definitely generous. The area that I personally believe needs improvement is the poutine gravy. Its thin & has a taste of BBQ-sauce. A good gravy should be thicker, & a deep & rich umami/stock flavor than BBQ sauce. It is also lacking salt (either on the fries or sauce). It was a let down. If the sauce can change, it would be the best poutine hands down.
The hype this place gained, is not worth it. Not the best food & sure not the most clean place. Poutine is only on the amount of cheese they put, but the sauce is not great & the fries soaking in oil.
It would be tempting to say this place is overhyped, it is afterall but a French Canadian fast food shack with typical north American Greek menu options. From that standpoint though, it really has it all; from the kitch rundown décor to the carefully crafted poutine. & that poutine is no doubt a 10/10: generous, proportionate, fresh squeeky cheese (I suspect they use Gouda curds, especially fresh & tasty) crispy french fries & a well balanced gravy. Don't let the lineup change your mind, this place is very efficient & the line moves quick. Staff is friendly. The seating area may seem small given how incredibly busy this place is but the turnover of clients is so big that somehow there is always a spot available to sit down.
After seeing Olivier Primeau's review, I decided to check out the hype for myself. The place was pretty packed.
There was a lineup, but it moved fast-only had to wait about 5-10 minutes. I tried the poutine only, & it was solid. It came out warm with a great amount of sauce & a generous portion of cheese. Probably the most cheese I have ever seen in a poutine lately. They use really good quality cheese, which makes a big difference. I'd rate the poutine an 8 out of 10.
The poutine reminded me of what Belle Province used to taste like (back in the days)
I find a lot of places have dropped in quality or changed their style, but this one brought back that classic taste.
I also tried Grégoire recently, & honestly, for me, Votre Maison is way better.
Votre Maison is honestly a great poutine that's not too expensive.
Overall Votre Maison is worth a visit & is a Great place for takeout. I wouldn't dine inside because personally it feels too crowded & it's pretty tight/small inside the restaurant. If you are having a hard time finding parking. Park at the Mcdonalds right across the street & walk.
⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐? Nice Experience, but a Bit Too Saucy
I had a good experience at Votre Maison Restaurant! The staff was very nice & welcoming, which made the visit enjoyable. The poutine was pretty good, with a nice balance of cheese & gravy. The vegetarian wrap was decent, but it had too much sauce, which overpowered the other flavors. Overall, the service was great, & I'd come back to try other dishes!
New spot I thought I would checkout after seeing a facebook post. Overall, glad I did. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly (cashier was vibrrrrant). Had the pork submarine & the italian poutine. Submarine is with gyro meat. Different but good & the sauce was delish. Italian poutine packed to the top & lots of cheese. If I can give the owner some constructive feedback... you need to work on the sauce. Ok, I know its a Greek joint but if you're gonna serve Italian poutine & spaghetti, you have to put out a better sauce. Add some herbs, bay leaves, black pepper, some chili pepper flakes & let it simmer. Anything to give it flavor! That sauce was blend as hell. Go try the one at la belle province on taschereau in Greenfield Park & compare them. You'll see the difference is day & night. But I'll be back, probably for the gyro & regular poutine. Hope you appreciate the feedback & good luck!
