Review Summary

Restaurant St-Bruno is seen as delivering outstanding wood-fired pizzas and delicious pastas, with pizzas praised for a perfect balance of char and melt and pastas like fettuccine Alfredo and beef dishes receiving high marks, even though one seafood pasta was noted as overly sauced which masked the seafood flavor. The overall dining experience is described as warm and welcoming, with a beautiful ambiance, a clean setting, and friendly, attentive service that keeps meals arriving hot and together for groups and special occasions. Staff and management are repeatedly cited as kind, efficient, and responsive, making dinner feel inclusive and well orchestrated. Portions are generous and prices reasonable, contributing to many plans to return, including for celebrations where guests left with positive compliments. Overall, Restaurant St-Bruno comes across as a reliable spot for a satisfying, tasty, and social meal with standout pizza and solid service.

After waiting several months for the restaurant to get back on its feet after their fire, our supper group decided it was time to go! We were sorely disappointed with our experience! The tables are packed close together, hardly any room to walk by. Although never being known for quick service, last night was ridiculous! We had to ask for water & bread. We opted just to have main courses, two girls ordered pasta, one eggplant parmigiana with a small Cesar salad & lastly one girl ordered pizza. After waiting well over an hour the pasta dishes & eggplant arrived. One of the pasta dishes had very little sauce so that it was almost dry, & the eggplant was only lukewarm! It was a full 15 minutes later before the last girl got her pizza! Excuse given was that there was a backup in the kitchen! Unacceptable, when a group goes to a restaurant they expect to eat at the same time! We decided to order coffee & tea after the meal. Two of us were finished our beverages before the last girl finally got her coffee ! Needless to say we won't be in any hurry to go back there! I hope they do something to improve this restaurant as it would be a shame to see this restaurant go under!

A group of ladies who had anxiously been waiting for this restaurant to reopen went with very high expectations. We were extremely disappointed. The renovated restaurant is extremely cold & has no atmosphere. It was so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves think, never mind try to carry on a conversation. The tables were one on top of the other. We found the pizza to not be as good as before. The coffee was so old we could smell that it was bad. We had to ask the waitress to make a new batch of coffee. When asked for a dessert menu the waitress, who we did not find to be the least bit polite, rattled off the dessert choices in French only, so fast that we had to ask her to repeat it several times. We realized when we got our bills why she didn't give us a dessert menu - we found $8.00 for a mediocre crème brule very expensive.
Overall we were very disappointed with the experience & won't be returning any time soon.
I suggest the restaurant hire staff who enjoy (or at least try to look like they enjoy) their job & have some idea of how to deal with customers, in the language of their choice. Make the pizza as good as it was before, & somehow try to bring some warmth into the place.

After quite a long wait, we finally went to dine in the new premises with great anticipation. It was a disappointment at its best, for it's not the cozy family restaurant it used to be, but a sports bar. Trendy does not mean the best all the time.

The food was not up to par that we were used to, but thinking that it's too soon to judge I let it go. However, it's a let down that it's not an Italian Restaurant anymore. That fact was proven to me when I ordered take out pizza a few days later, for an impromptu Christmas get together.

The wine they serve is Spanish & California with very few selections of Italian, & no more house wine. Only by the glass.

Saint-Bruno Restaurant made its claim to fame with their delicious pizzas. Unless they revert to their original recipe, they will become one of run of the mill pizzerias in the neighborhood, which will be a great shame.
