Stopped by Restaurant Papa after a long bike ride because I was starving-& wow, what a great decision. The food was delicious, fresh, & tasted just like a comforting home-cooked meal. I loved the laid-back vibe: if you're dining in, you eat first, then pay; if it's takeout, you pay upfront-simple & friendly.
The portions are super generous, especially the meat-definitely enough for two people's or perfect to save half for a cozy movie night later. Everything tasted clean & homemade.
& just when I thought lunch couldn't get any better-I ended it with their Etat dessert drink. Light, colorful, & full of surprises, it was the perfect sweet finish after a hearty, home-style meal. Highly recommend saving room for this one!View more

I don't have any photos that execute written facts ... however, I was in a sham after being told to visit & order from this restaurant. In truth the dishes I tasted were too bland for my palette. Their pricing per dish is superb. In addition the amount of food given is enormous by restaurant standards. For me I feel where they fell short is the flavoring wow-factor. Mind y'all, I have a West Indies up growing where dishes are seasoned to perfection. I felt challenged to taste because a person from the Phil's said they are good. Now I disagree. I believe this restaurant can be a landmark of delicious dishes 1- if they can take positive criticism & invest in renovations. I don't think the person serving me should have had a beard every so long while hovering over the displayed dishes. I guarantee you I will go back to this restaurant some time soon.View more
If you want the authentic & affordable Filipino cuisine, restaurant papas is the place to be! It is my favorite filipino restaurant here in Montreal. The serving is huge, staff are super nice & funny & the atmosphere gives a carinderia & turo turo vibes from home! Everything is delish & my favorites are liempo, pata, pakbet, laing, fried fish, humba, papaitan & many more.View more

Our go to for Filipino cravings, reminds me of my mom's cooking. I haven't been dissapinged. Crispy pata is so good, don't skip on the soup🤙🏽🔥View more
Comforting food, tastes like home 🇵🇭. The $15 combo is a great deal as it comes with two dishes, rice & a drink. The adobo was flavourful, sinigang was sour & the turon was a great way to finish off the meal. The tito & titas were very nice & friendly. The cafeteria style reminded me so much of the Filipino karinderia. The restaurant is quite spacious, lots of seating & tall ceilings. Will definitely be coming back & bringing friends here!View more
Delicious. This will be a regular stop for me now.View more
If you're Filipino & familiar with "turo-turo", this is exactly it, a genuine no-frills turo-turo place from folks up in the northern region of the Philippines serving up affordable & great tasting dishes. If you aren't Filipino, just know that the dishes here are genuine. We got two entrees with rice, a halo-halo (cold dessert) & a bunch of turon (banana dessert). The halo-halo was creamy & wasn't too sweet. The turon seems to be the best seller since there were a bunch of folks coming in & out ordering it to go, it did taste great when we ate it at the restaurant & tasted great even the day after.View more
My favorite Filipino eatery of all time! Portions are generous, price is good, people are friendly. Whenever I can, I always order the Papitan! Bonus is their generosity for feeding the less fortunate people. Very impressed.View more
