Headline: Excellent meal & experience at an off-the-beaten-path restaurant who's goal is to highlight local produce & providers while showing their community that excellent meals should be accessible &'normal.' Visitors should expect the menu to change based on the best available that week.

Impressions:
A funky bistro vibe on the main drag of St.-Agathe-des-Monts with homages to pop culture in Lego forms that say'let's have fun' (did I mention the fully functioning Ms. Packman machine next to the curated wines, beers, & spirits - many from the Québec province.

Their dedication to local producers is apparent in every dish. Our server was spunky & extremely knowledgeable. Everyone we interacted with (staff & guests) seemed happy & had a'in-the-know' smile. Oh, & the food was absolutely delicious. ??The staff is bilingual Québecois français & English.

What We Shared:
• Chou-Fleur: Cauliflower, smoked, sour cream with garlic flower & coriander, & Cajun spices
• Tartine aux Champignons: Local mushrooms, mushroom butter, herb emulsion, radishes… wow. That mushroom toast was amazing.
• Huîtres du Moment: Freshly shucked oysters, mignonnette.
• Salade Tiède de Canard: Confit duck, lettuce, pickled veggies, honey vinaigrette, walnuts, goat chesse (& perhaps the best tomatoes I have ever tasted.)

Everything was delicious. & we had a great time with our server.

They're about 1hr 10min north of Montréal. & if you're looking to get away from the canned b.s. at Mont Tremblant, it's only at 25 minute drive. ??We highly recommend Restaurant Normal.

Just fantastic all around. I didn't get a picture of the cauliflower, but it was incredible-actually stunned that cauliflower could taste that good. I walked in on a Friday evening without a reservation, but I was lucky. Best to book ahead.

This is going to reflect what others have said already...this is a slow slow place. Expect to arrive, & receive water after 15-20 mins, minimum.

Food is good, but not huge in quantity. A normal hotdogs (sausage, actually) took them an hour to make & arrive. So, expect to be frustrated, & overpay. Again, not a critique about the quality, but the quantity & service. Hire more staff, or take on less. You cannot handle it.. I heard all night the server telling people it'll some time, but truly just say it honestly, it'll take hour or likely more.

Excellent service! Plats beaux & bons! Nous étions 2 personnes. On a dit à notre serveuse qu'on voulait des recommandations de plats & vins. Elle nous a dit, je m'occupe de tout. Résultat: un menu dégustation & accord des vins. Quelle belle soirée! Merci!

Took the trip from Montreal just to eat at Restaurant Normal. My excitement at the quality of the food & the people cooking & serving was well met the moment I arrived. Exquisite food, carefully prepared down to the garnish details & sauces. Flavored popped with each dish. We tried many! Loved the steelhead, cauliflower, perch, mushroom, & the pasta. Our wine choice fit right in to balance the dining. Came from San Diego, wanted to support Canada, & prioritized Canada home grown dining. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon dining with you.

This restaurant could be on the strip in Vegas & be in the top five. So glad it's in Québec 50 minutes from my house!

Nous y sommes allé pour le lunch & avons déjà hâte d'y retourner! Une belle carte tout en fraîcheur. Le chou-fleur fumé a le profil d'un plat signature, toutes les saveurs en harmonie. La copieuse & colorée salade de canard était aussi belle que bonne. & la guédille de crevettes était savoureuse. Service sympathique & décor charmant.

Les points forts d'abord, une carte des vins sensationnelle riche en belles maisons du Québec.
Nous avons bu un pinot noir du Nival sensationnel.
Menu très intéressant, beaucoup de variété.
Souci de la provenance & de la qualité des ingrédients, rien à dire à ce sujet.
Mais les quantités... Trois bouchées de perchaude frite (très bonne sauce) pour 19$?
En pleine saison de production & d'abondance maraichère, une entrée de chou-fleur qui ne comporte que quatre petites bouchées? Honnêtement, ça ne fait pas sérieux...
Précisons qu'il s'agit de classiques'petits plats à partager'... mais on partage comment s'ils sont si petits? La maison devrait fournir une loupe...
Service agréable mais un peu distrait ce soir-là.
Une bonne soirée dans son ensemble, qui aurait pu être parfaite mais a finalement été loin de l'être.

J'ai été épaté par tous les repas que nous avons pris. J'y retournerai encore & encore!
La nourriture était plus qu'excellente & nous avons eu un superbe service par Janie!
