Amazing food! Best Ethiopian food that I've had in Montreal or Toronto. My friend & I shared a veggie combo & each dish was so flavourful & delicious. We also got a mango smoothie, which was really tasty. The woman who works there (I assume she's the owner) was also really nice & friendly.

I was visiting from Toronto & craving some good Habesha food while in Montreal. After some searching, I found Nakfa Restaurant & decided to give it a try; & I'm glad I did! I ordered the combo for one, which came with a generous mix of meat & vegan options: white tibs, key tibs, shiro, cabbage, greens, salad, & a spicy red key siga wot called zigni. Everything was delicious & well-prepared; full of flavor & cooked perfectly. The portion was just right for one person, & I also enjoyed a nice cup of tea with the meal.

The service was good, though there's a bit of room for improvement. The space is quite small, & it wasn't easy to find a seat. I found the price a bit higher than what I'm used to in Toronto; I paid around $50 including a 15% tip; not sure why the difference, but the quality made up for it.

Overall, it was a great experience & a solid spot for authentic Habesha food in Montreal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in the city!

We went with my family for lunch. We orded one non-fasting combo & one fasting combo. The taste was nice & the meat was tender. The variety of the souce was many which helped to enjoy your favorite source. As there was only one shef who also served us, we waited a bit long (about 25 minutes). As we were craving for Ethiopian food, it was a good choice. I appreciate the effort & dedication of the guy. I advice him not to put earphones while working. I advice to plan for about 2 hours.

I visited this restaurant last week with friends & had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, & the person working there was kind & helpful. It was my first time trying Eritrean cuisine, & I was pleasantly surprised by how similar it is to Ethiopian food. The menu offers great sharing options, & I highly recommend ordering a combo to enjoy with friends. This little gem is definitely worth a visit, & I'm already looking forward to coming back!

Stumbled upon this gem, I was in Côte-Saint-Luc & got hungry, googled restaurants near me & went in solely based on the pictures people shared. Food was outstanding, service was more than 5 stars but Google capped it at 5. Will definitely go again. Had the meat & vegetarian combo for 2-3 ppl. We were 2 & took a good portion home so definitely would be good for 3.

The food was incredible - we ordered "Meat Combo " & it was flavorful & plentiful. The injera was fresh perfect ! New: I'm feeling really disappointed with our last order, from the first bite it tasted stale, especially the collard greens. Usually we order over the phone or on their website & it takes long to deliver - always over an hour but this time it was through Uber eats as we couldn't reach through phone. We got it in around half an hour & was really surprised, it ended up not being a good one as my partner & I both got sick for 2 days after eating the food.. 🥹 please don't compromise on your quality, it's okay if it takes time.. Old: I want to give this place more stars?!?! Delicious, authentic & comfort homemade kind of food. The food comes just hot enough to enjoy the meal. The owners are lovely hosts & generous with their servings. You know it from that first bite that it's made with soooooo much love! Reminds me of food made by mom! We just had the food for lunch today & it was an absolute delight. I'm originally from Tanzania, & although this food is from Eritrea 🇪🇷 (neighbour to Ethiopia) it took me back to similar flavours at home 🇹🇿 I think it was really the hospitality & the authenticity that won our hearts & definitely our stomachs 🤗 part of the meal is some coffee at the end ☕️ which we didn't get to enjoy unfortunately as we were in a rush & instead they were kind enough to give us some soft drinks instead. If you're planning to dine in, you must set aside at least 2.5 hours as they make the food super fresh so they need 20-50 mins to prep depending on the combo you select & then you need the time to enjoy the food 🥘. If you don't have that much time, they recommend calling in advance so they can prep it ready for your arrival (dine in or takeout). We went for the largest one to share between two people & it was so wholesome & filling & we have leftovers for tomorrow for two very full meals! Price wise it is also very fair as we paid approximately $51all included. You can rarely find this anywhere for the quality, authenticity, & quantity! We have tried other high end priced & in between priced Ethiopian restaurants in Montreal & I gotta say this place has it all & more! I wish more people would make efforts to try a restaurant that is true to its a origine & not always fall for the mass commercialized restaurants! They also have a nice bar so you can enjoy wine or hard liquor 🥃 along with the food. The ambiance is great vibing with the country/ cuisine type, decorated beautifully with picture frames & other art pieces. Music is great too! It is a well run family restaurant perfect for a family meal, quite romantic date or to go with colleagues who are adventurous & love trying new cuisine type! To enjoy the food in an authentic way try & eat it with your hands as that's what makes the food yummy! It's truly a hidden gem! 💎 we are so grateful to have it very close to our home! 🙏 we plan on coming again on dates as well as introducing our friends & family to this lovely place & people!
