This small restaurant got full not long after & a line was already forming. The service was professional & quite efficient but they weren't really friendly or really welcoming. The food itself was delicious. I really enjoyed the different combinations of flavours in each dishes & I also enjoyed the squishy texture of the rice cakes. The soup was bursting with flavours as well & the sweet & sour pork was flavorful too. The sauce they made accompanied the fried pork so well. The light crispness with the tender meat was just great. We ordered the small portion of the pork & it was surprisingly large which was amazing as well.
Overall terrible restaurant. Heard a lot of great things about this place so we went & tried it out. First of all it took the two waitresses around 5 minutes to seat us. After being seated we ordered the Jaeyuk & the Gamjatang. We received the Jaeyuk first, without any rice & the waitress told us the rice would be out in a minute (how am I supposed to eat?). We also needed to ask for the side dishes as the waitress forgot them… Then the soup followed (still no rice). When we finally tried the food we were extremely dissatisfied. The Jaeyuk is some random pork pieces bathing in oil & is straight up sugar. The gamjatang was ok but our meat was cold (inside the soup !!!), when we told our waitress she took our soup back to the kitchen & came back with it after reheating it (mind you we took the meat out to eat it, so we were left with boiling broth but still cold meat ?), also there was 1 singular potato in there. Side dishes were mid nothing incredible.
We left without finishing the food & when we paid we still paid full price, no compensation or anything to try to make it up to us (what usually happens when something is wrong with the food in a restaurant).
Anyways, I would not recommend the restaurant at all, terrible korean food & service. (i also checked the other customers & no one finished their dish)
We decided to eat here with my husband because we were craving Korean food, but unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it. It was overhyped. The soup was good but overly salty. The bibimbap was unappetizing, bland, slightly cold, & the lettuce didn't complement the dish at all. It was also too greasy for my taste.
The service was okay, but it took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. If you're looking for authentic Korean food, I'd recommend Soopong on Queen Mary-you won't go wrong there.

We tried this Korean restaurant, but the experience was rather disappointing. Overall, the dishes lacked flavor. The chicken was very greasy & bland, which completely masked any taste. The soup was also lacking in spices. The fried chicken, despite being presented as a chef's specialty, was dry & uninteresting in terms of flavor. The only dish that stood out was the tteokbokki.
This is bad fast food - as bad & as fast as it gets. Burgers &/salad anyone. What a disappointment!
We order their food at least once a week!
their food is amazing! Tasty, always warm, well packaged & mainly, GREAT quantity. Highly recommend the Dakgangjung!
Love their food! The kimchi pork stew & stir fried pork are my go-to's.
Came back from South Korea & had a craving for cold Naengmyun.
This place is run by korean speakers & their recipes reflect their hangul heritage & the taste is very similar to what you can find in a family run restaurant in Seoul

ISSUE RESOLVED
WE DEVOURED THE TANGSUYUK
We ordered Tangusuyuk, Chicken Gizzard, Galbitang, & Tteokbokki super delicious & very crispy

We've been regulars at Mukja since 2023, & we always come back for the tangsuyuk-it's usually crispy, double-fried, & absolutely delicious. But today (Oct 23rd), the tangsuyuk was disappointingly soggy & clearly not double-fried like usual. We politely asked the waiter to check with the chef, but the manager refused to accommodate the request.
The waiter was great as always-friendly & attentive-& the rest of the food was good. But the tangsuyuk is the main reason we come here, & this experience was a letdown.
We'll only return if the manager addresses this issue. If that happens, I'll gladly update this review back to 5 stars.
One of my favourite Korean spots in the city! The menu has a great variety. The food is always delicious & the service is consistently good. I also love that they offer so many free side dishes & you can always ask for refills. Definitely recommend!
Really great korean food, reminded me of when i went to sk, very fresh & authentic. Also really cute vibes & good prices
I really love Mukja. It's such a cute & simple spot but really hits home with the flavours & meals. I love that you can get Makgeolli here, & their tteokbokki is to die for. I really love their baby octopus as well. I really recommend going here & trying. a bit of everything. The prices are SO affordable compared to most places, & this keeps us coming back even though we live an 1hr away. Keep up the fantastic work!
They have my favorite fried chicken!
Small piece but big box!
I come here every week before my dancing class, perfect portions!
food came quick, jaw dropping presentation & preparation, amazing depth of flavor. Get the Soondubu with seafood, seafood pancake, or japchae. Wonderfully authentic flavor that I have yet to see anywhere else in Montreal.
