About

Restaurant Mr. Dakgalbi specializes in the art of Korean stir-fry, centered around the iconic dakgalbi dish prepared on large tabletop hot plates. Diners select various proteins, typically marinated spicy chicken, combined with crisp cabbage, sweet potatoes, perilla leaves, and rice cakes. The cooking process occurs directly at the table, allowing the savory gochujang sauce to caramelize and infuse every ingredient with intense flavor. A hallmark of this culinary tradition involves incorporating ramen noodles or additional rice into the leftover sauce to form a crisp, scorched bottom layer known as bokkeumbap. The atmosphere focuses on the communal preparation of these high-heat dishes, prioritizing the integration of textures and temperatures. This establishment delivers a direct, authentic experience centered on the bold, spicy profiles signature to this classic Korean stir-fry specialty.

The aromas are on point & the food is good. The prices are fair too. Although, I highly recommend specifying your spice tolerance to the restaurant when you order. Eating the Mapo Tofu happened to be a spicier experience than the time I accidentally pepper-sprayed myself in the mouth. Still, I was able to finish my plate but I imagine that a lot of people wouldn't finish theirs.
