I visited Restaurant Mexicain 365 to watch the Mexico vs. Ecuador World Cup match with some friends. Our plan was simple: enjoy authentic Mexican food while watching the game.
We arrived around 7:30 PM, well before kickoff, & the restaurant wasn't very busy at first. The food arrived within a reasonable amount of time, & the presentation was nice. Overall, the portions were generous, although the rice served with the Swiss enchiladas was surprisingly small compared to what you'd normally expect.
For appetizers, we ordered the calamari, & they were honestly 10/10-crispy & flavorful.
Four of us ordered the Torta Campechana. It was delicious, but I felt it could have had a little more seasoning or flavor to make it truly outstanding. Still, it was a very good sandwich, & I'd give it an 7/10.
The kids ordered the children's combo with quesadillas, fries, & a churro for dessert. Unfortunately, although we ordered two kids' meals, only one churro was served.
I didn't personally try the Swiss enchiladas, but the person who ordered them rated them 8/10. Another friend ordered the fish tacos & said they were 9/10.
The biggest issue of the evening was the service.
Since it was World Cup night, the restaurant became completely full by game time. I understand they only had one person in the kitchen & three servers, so I can appreciate that they were doing their best under a lot of pressure.
Our server told us it was actually her first day. She was very friendly & polite. However, the service was extremely slow throughout the evening. Drinks regularly took 10-15 minutes to arrive, even something as simple as beers.
One thing I wasn't expecting was the live band. I actually enjoy live music, but I wasn't sure it was the best fit for a World Cup night. They played before the match started & again during halftime, & they respectfully stopped playing when the Mexican national anthem began, which I appreciated. Personally, I would have preferred the focus to stay on the game throughout the evening, since most people were there specifically to watch the match rather than enjoy live music.
Dessert was probably the most disappointing part of the evening. I originally wanted to order the Three Chocolate dessert, but our server mentioned it would take around 20 minutes to prepare. Since I wanted something quicker, I switched to the churros because I was told they would be much faster. Unfortunately, they still took about an hour & a half to arrive. At $3.50 each, I also found them a bit overpriced, & the one I received was quite hard & not as fresh as I expected.
Overall, I think this restaurant serves good Mexican food at fair prices, & several dishes were genuinely excellent. With better organization during busy events & a little more attention to service, the experience could be much better. I'd definitely come back for the food, but probably on a quieter day rather than during a major soccer match.
Nous avons été déçu par le service alors que le entrées sont servies après le repas principal + oublie de servir nos boisons après une attente de 90 minutes. Le personnel est débordé & surtout désorganisé. La nourriture est de pauvre qualité, la viande est fade & les fritures goûte l'huile rance. Je ne vous conseille pas ce restaurant!
Bonne bouffe, service souvent très lent. Nous avons attendu 25 minutes pour commander & personne n'est passée nous voir. Je n'ai pas envie de payer $100 ou plus pour deux personnes & attendre une heure. Deuxième fois que ça m'arrive.
The food was incredible -- truly delicious. The service was very friendly but also quite slow, so plan your timing accordingly! At the end of the night, they closed the patio around us having forgotten to give us the bill that we asked for/needing us to remind them. This was my first (& only) time there so far, but I have already been recommending the food & would definitely eat here again.
J'ai déjà mangé des tacos birria auparavant, mais ceux-ci étaient les meilleurs tacos birria que j'ai jamais goûtés. Le boeuf était tendre, juteux & plein de saveur, le fromage était parfaitement fondu, & le consommé de boeuf était absolument délicieux.
Nous avons aussi commandé des tacos au poulet effiloché, & ils étaient vraiment très bons. Les plats sont servis avec du riz, des haricots, de la salade & du guacamole. On ne peut pas faire plus authentique que cet endroit - les propriétaires viennent du Mexique.
Le service était rapide & les serveurs étaient très gentils. Nous avons aussi pris un mojito à la mangue, avec de vrais morceaux de mangue à l'intérieur. C'était excellent!
