About

Restaurant L'Escape specializes in the preparation of traditional African and Caribbean culinary staples that emphasize bold spices and slow-cooked textures. The menu features a variety of authentic meat dishes seasoned with indigenous herbs, alongside hearty plantain, rice, and bean accompaniments that anchor each serving. These preparations prioritize robust flavor profiles characteristic of diverse regional cooking techniques from both continents. Diners encounter a focused selection of proteins often braised or stewed to achieve tenderness, paired with flavorful vegetable sides. The atmosphere facilitates a straightforward eating experience where the primary focus remains on the integrity of the ingredients. Consistency in preparation defines the approach, ensuring that every dish reflects established culinary practices associated with these specific food traditions through careful seasoning and heat management.

I brought my parents up to Montreal for a visit & this restaurant was cherry on top of the trip! The food was amazing, the service was exceptional. Very cordial, very welcoming. Very clean environment & the venue OPENED ON TIME!

We had the Ogbono Soup, Bitterleaf Soup & Seafood Okra. All well seasoned, not salty, not too spicy. Very flavorful, authentic Nigerian food.

Will definitely come back any time I'm in town!

I like this restaurant very much. It is my first time to eat African food. It is very suitable for my Chinese stomach. I especially recommend beef suya & fried plantain. If you like spicy food, you can try goat soup, tastes good. Fufu is also very unique, my husband likes it. The environment is very relaxing & perfect for hanging out with friends. Service is very nice.
