SzechuanAsianGrill

About

Restaurant Kawami serves a robust selection of authentic Szechuan cuisine characterized by bold peppercorn spices and intricate aromatic profiles. The menu features specialized grilled dishes that showcase traditional Asian techniques, emphasizing high heat and precise seasoning to develop deep flavors. Diners encounter a wide array of options ranging from intensely spicy stir-fries to carefully prepared regional specialties. The kitchen prioritizes fresh ingredients to ensure every plate maintains a consistent standard of quality and complexity. This establishment creates an environment centered on culinary focus where the intensity of the grill meets the sharp, numbing heat of classic Szechuan cooking. Review Summary

Restaurant Kawami shows quick seating for a midweek lunch with a pot of freshly brewed tea and a simple, satisfying lunch menu; the General Tao chicken comes with a bowl of rice and plenty of sautéed bok choy and broccoli in a delicious Chinese white sauce, served piping hot in a way that reflects authentic wok hei; the rest of the menu is described as authentically Sichuanese and inviting; a sizzling plate of sesame beef seen on the way out hinted at a return soon; the venue is BYO wine and is noted as good for large reservations and well presented; seafood highlights include oysters, calamari in a peppery style, and succulent clams, while vegetarian options are available and can be customized when possible; overall, the reviews describe tasty, fresh dishes and a sense of wanting to return.

Always love coming here with my family! I always get their steamed fish, which is incredibly fresh & delicious. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a family lunch or dinner. Despite it being the weekend lunchtime, the restaurant wasn't too busy, so perfect atmosphere for a family celebration. The space is very roomy, & they have child seats available, which is a big plus for families I guess. Also don't forget that you can bring your own wine! The service was also impressively fast. Overall, a nice go-to restaurant for some comfort Szechuan food in the south shore!

Amazing!! If you are in the mood for Chinese food in the south shore, you gotta come to this restaurant. Been coming here since they opened & every friend that I bring here is as amazed as me for the quality & quantity of the food! Be sure to try their fish!! It was so good that I had a hard time getting my friend's chopsticks out of the way for me to snap a pic! & for the cherry on top... you bring your own wine!!!

Go for the food. Just know what type of meal you'll be in for, it's not a place to linger & enjoy the wine lol. Take it for what it is. The waitresses are definitely not kissing your a** & the atmosphere is non existent. But i go for lunch sometimes & the food is consistently very good. Every soup I've tried has been delicious, a little spicy but that's on you. The steamed chicken with chili oil is really good & I've done takeout on that as well. It's never busy at lunchtime, no clue how the dinner service is. I think it's really one of the better Chinese restos in Brossard, (I've been to all of them) although the portions aren't big so it can get a bit pricy. But then again, a lot of the restos nowadays don't have big servings either. & for 2 people, I had a big doggybag.
