I was disappointed with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the chicken, but it turned out to be a small, bony bird that was clearly reheated - part of the meat was even cool. It felt overpriced for what I got. I also specifically asked for my food not to be spicy, but the rice that came with the dish was spicy enough to make me sweat - definitely not what I expected. I wanted to order a beer, but they were out, & the server offered me a cocktail'similar to beer.' Unfortunately, it was just rum with soda & lime, & I didn't enjoy it at all. That one's partly my fault for not asking what was in it, but overall the experience was underwhelming.View more
This is a little gem you must try. It might look like a tourist trap but it is not. The food is delicious, generous, colorful, flavorful & you need to try their cocktails!
In the heart of place-des-arts, right before (or after) a show, it is a great option.
Last time, we went for only three plates for two & we had plenty! Get the accras; the plate is to share & so generous with 10 variations. Delicious. The half jerk chicken is a classic for a reason (get it spicy!) & we enjoyed the griot.

Excelent. The composition, empathy of waiters, everything is exceptional beyond words. Come here. The music, service, & food is made in the way of an ideal restaurant experience almost anybody would want. The food takes a long time to come, but it's worth it.
I'd recommend meeting the restaurants owner, Paul Toussaint. He is a great guy to meet!

Service rapide & courtoisie. Une belle ambiance en fin de soirée avec de la bonne musique pas trop forte. La nourriture était à la hautaier de nos attentes. Le gratin de l'ambiance est un must. Le restaurant a été une déception. Nous étions en groupe & avons payé 70$ par personne, taxes exclues, pour des portions vraiment petites. Les assiettes étaient minimalistes, & il fallait ajouter un supplément pour les boissons, ce qui n'était pas mentionné dans le prix fixe. Pour le prix, la qualité & la quantité n'étaient pas au rendez-vous. C'était une expérience décevante qui ne justifie pas le coût. Food was exceptional as well as the drinks. But I gave 2 stars for the service. Our waiter from Haiti does not know how to read the room. First he approached our table with a joke but it came across like an insult so it set us up poorly to begin with. Then, he only spoke to my boyfriend THE ENTIRE NIGHT. We were joking amongst ourselves that our waiter was in love. There were a group of 4 of us together & the 3 of us gave up at one point & just continued chatting between us since we were obviously not of any interest to our waiter. Not to mention, I'm paying the bill for myself & my partner & leaving the tip, so I'd appreciate some decency? He did not look at me once, he took my boyfriends order first, would randomly shake his hand, talked to him the entire time, ignored all the rest of us, made weird jokes, smelled like cigarettes, recommended things twice after we said we were not interested, & he waited so long to take our order but claimed he was letting us chat while we were wondering why he was taking so long. We would all go back but we'd hope to get a different waiter.View more
