This increasingly popular Portuguese grill, restaurant Jano, for many years has been offering a refreshing sanctuary in the most animated section of the Main. Serving the same country cuisine and earning a reputation for their charcoal grilling and features a top-secret marinade that keeps people coming back. Sample menu at Jano: Portuguese green cabbage soup (Caldo Verde), grilled sardines, sweet peppers, grilled trout and red seabream, grilled lamb cutlets, grilled Portuguese sausages, crème caramel (pudim flan), etc...
Overall, reviews describe a warm, welcoming dining experience at Jano with attentive service and generous portions of tasty Portuguese favorites like chicken, pork, beef, sardines, and grilled seafood. Atmosphere feels like a family gathering and the staff are friendly and helpful, with thoughtful recommendations and a comfortable, straightforward vibe that is good value. While a few desserts or beverages could use a bit more flavor, the kitchen consistently delivers flavorful dishes, hearty servings, and a sense of authenticity that makes this spot stand out for casual meals with friends or family.
We ordered from Uber-eats, & the food was obviously old & had been warmed up. The chicken was almost burnt, & the chips were too salty. Disappointing experience.

I visited Jano's restaurant yesterday, & I must say, the food was absolutely delicious. Juan de Dios, our accommodating host, did an excellent job of meeting our needs. Moreover, the staff at this establishment is not only friendly but also courteous. I highly recommend trying out this fantastic restaurant.
well intended service. must have PT music to complement the PT concept. i recommend the caldo verde soup & the grilled calamari. reduce the amount of fries. don't use retail soap at WC. low Q/P
Nous avons été manger pour la première fois à cette endroit cet été, menu restreint mais très bon, goûteux & le service exemplaire. Le prix était plus raisonnables que d'autre concurrents. 5/5 !
Excellent food in an unassuming location that, like a Tardis, is bigger on the inside than it appears. Authentic Portuguese beers complement the roasted meats. Large, fluffy buns arrive at your table as soon as you are seated. Atmosphere is simple & friendly. Prices are surprisingly good compared to other neighboring restaurants. Excellent choice if you enjoy traditional Portuguese food. Only disappointment was the fries: not bad, but traditional Portuguese roasted potatoes would have been nicer than fries you'd find pretty much anywhere else. Hot sauce had a very nice kick & helped improve the fries somewhat.
