I gave 5 stars for the food because it comes from a culture I'm not familiar with, so I don't really feel I have the right frame of reference to judge it.

The place felt a bit cold at the time - it was a very cold day in Montreal. The appetizer was okay, small meat pastries that were very aromatic; I actually found them tastier than the main dish. The main course seemed authentic, but for my taste it was quite spicy. My friend's dish, on the other hand, wasn't great (haha), but again, that likely comes down to personal preference & not being used to the flavors.

The atmosphere is nice & does a good job representing the African continent.

We just discovered this restaurant & it's now one of my favourites in Montreal! The food was flavourful, the portions were generous & the service was a 10 out of 10! Everyone at our table truly enjoyed their meals, especially the Queue de Boeuf au Gombo with fufu & the Tilapia braisé & Saka Saka.

Thanks so much to the team for your hospitality & for the chef for making us travel across the African continent through your meals!

The food was great & the portion size for each dish was incredible, nobody left the place without unzipping their pants a bit. The service was excellent & the waiter even gave us a dessert on the house! I definitely recommend this place for anyone who's curious about African cuisine. It did take a bit of time to receive the food but it was certainly worth it.

The food was excellent. Super flavourful & the portions are generous! The staff is very kind. There is not a lot of African restaurants in the neighbourhood so it is very welcome!

First time at Restaurant Njambala. We ordered Beef Gambo with Okra & ox tail with veggies. We had these entres with rice & fufu. This is by far the best African food I have had in Montreal. It was fresh, deep, rich flavors & mouth wateringly tasteful. This is truly homemade delicacies. No dine in, but take is available, the service & staff were professional. I highly recommend it & will return soon.
