Review Summary

Restaurant De Chou is described as a cozy, casual Korean spot that feels like a local favorite in Montreal. Dishes are praised for being fresh, flavorful, and often healthy, with bibimbap, spicy tofu hotpot, beef udon, kimchi, noodles, soups, and salads frequently highlighted. Prices are described as reasonable for the quality, though a few notes mention it can be slightly pricey, but the portions and freshness balance well. Takeout is convenient for trying new dishes, and the atmosphere is repeatedly described as calm and relaxing, not loud or busy. Service is consistently praised as friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming feel. The restaurant is viewed as a reliable neighborhood staple with a simple yet delicious approach that balances flavors and portions, making it easy to return for a comforting meal. Overall it is considered among the best in the area by many and a place that guests plan to revisit.

Amazing authentic food made, cozy & eclectic restaurant, & a stand alone chef. This amazing man serves & cooks all by himself. A little slow, but most definitely worth the weight. So many little knickknacks to look at & mouth watering flavours to eat on a cold or a hot day.

Love this place! Family favourite neighborhood Korean. Have dined here many times & ordered takeout often too. The food never disappoints, efficiently & expertly prepared by the chef-owner who seems to mostly work & serve alone. I particularly love the spicy pork dosirak, although everything is excellent. Quiet, cozy & intimate space, ideal for 2-4 people who wish to converse. Great outdoor space in the summer also.
