I made reservation at Bellissimo to celebrate my husband's birthday. Having been highly recommended by a friend who goes there on a regular basis, I was very much looking forward to that evening. The atmosphere, decor & aspect of the restaurant was very nice. However, we were seating at 6:30 p.m. & at 7 p.m. my husband had to get the waitress's attention to be served. The bottle of wine chosen, was no longer available, so had to settle for something else. I cannot hold this lovely lady responsible for the slow service. The restaurant was full, they were only two waiters & I must say only one was experienced. The food was very good, but we had waited long enough even to pay the bill that we decided to have coffee & birthday cake at another establishment.
The 1st time we ate here we rated it 5 star. This time 3.5-4 at best. We were 6 people & half enjoyed their food very much, 2 believed it was mediocre & 1 did not enjoy it at all & i fact left half the plate full. It was the manicotti/cannoloni, 2 rolls of meat in regular pasta wrap & one of cheese in spinach pasta. It was baked too long in the oven & was tough. Service was a bit lacking but not out of laziness or non concern. There seemed to be a staff shortage. There was a very large function upstairs so perhaps the restaurant regulars (most of the people there) were being taken for granted that evening to cater to the large crowd in the banquet room. Next time we book I will only go if there is no reception taking place at the same time.
We were 4 friends who wanted to do a lot of catching up. The restaurant was quite full but we were never rushed. Our waiter was available, but gave us all the time we wanted to order. We all had different meals. My fisof the day from the table d'hôte was absolutely delicious. Grilled trout with lemon, capers & white wine, served with delicious roasted vegetables. I literally ate every morsel on my plate. My friend ordered the chef duo pasta which was also excellent. Both came with lovely house salad with a delicious dressing. Another friend ordered a Caesar salad & pasta primavera, while the fourth had chicken parmigiana with pasta. We all felt our meals were top notch. We had the house wine. Throughout the service was excellent. We highly recommend Belissimo for its service, food & good value.
Belle ambiance, restaurant chaleureux, par contre le manger est ordinaire, rien de spectaculaire. Les prix sont raisonnables Le vin maison laisse à désirer.
Lovely restaurant with great food. A little loud but it was a Friday night. Salads fresh & delicious. Cannelloni excellent & pizza very good except outside crust burnt. We enjoy this restaurant for special nights & bringing friends to. Great location & free parking!
