Get the seafood risotto (it was the evening special) by chef Bevan Lee. Simply outstanding! This adds a whole new dimension to comfort food.
Ask for Julie. She looked after me that evening. I took the recommended pairing of a white (sorry, don't remember the name), & it was a perfect combination. Julie is always, discreetly present, & appears almost like magic when you need something!
The desserts, if what I ordered was any indication, are to die for. I ordered the first item in the menu(in the picture).
Died, went to heaven! & I'd go back for round 2...

L'expérience était super! Le souper au Kube était exceptionnel, de l'entrée au dessert. Le menu du Kube & la carte des cocktails étaient sophistiqués, diversifiés & pour tous les goûts. Les plats étaient bien présentés, originaux & délicieux. La carte des cocktails était très intéressante également, j'ai beaucoup apprécié l'expérience de A à Z! Je recommande à tous de venir profiter d'un séjour urbain hors du commun.
J'ai été très déçu & j'ose espérer que ce fut une erreur ponctuelle.
Je dirais que tout s'est bien passé, jusqu'au dessert & à la commande de 2 cognacs XO.
Nous avions déjà bu, à 2, des cocktails & une bouteille de Chablis. & si je permets ce commentaire, c'est juste pour donner un ordre d'idée de l'addition.
Mais quand j'ai vu arriver les verres de Cognac, mes bras m'en sont tombés. J'ai failli les renvoyer, mais étant avec un client je me suis tu.
Proposer un cognac XO à 35$ est une chose, mais servir l'équivalent de 2 ou 3 cl est simplement inadmissible. En tous cas pour un établissement comme le votre !
The Hotel was beautiful & I would definitely recommend it but Le Kube was a stain on a fun weekend.
Made a rez & a note saying it was one of the guests' birthdays in hopes we could present them a dessert or such. Arrived at the restaurant & stood by one of the entrances, & multiple wait staff walked around & by us without saying anything. After 5 or so minutes we walked to their other entrance point, assuming we were maybe at the wrong area, & another 5 or so minutes of staff ignoring us. Eventually, the birthday guest goes right up to a waiter to let them know we have a reservation. He says to give him a few minutes & then sits us in a corner. From the point we first arrived there were multiple tables available but we didn't know if the others were on hold so we didn't mind. We're pretty sure he forgot about us in the corner because again we can see him walking around & such & it takes another 10 minutes to be able to put in a drink & appetizers order. I also tried to give the waiter my name for the reservation so he could see the birthday note without me spoiling it for the guest.
The food was okay, I was given regular fries instead of the sweet potato I asked for but at that point, I couldn't be bothered. After our appetizers, we left & went to an actual restaurant & the food & service were great! In the morning we avoided the breakfast resto in fear we'd have the same experience.
Overall, it took almost 20 minutes to be seated (even though we had a reservation & a few tables were available), & another nearly 30 minutes for 2 drinks, fries & a salad. I'm so glad I was able to make a quick reservation at Pichai, the birthday guest loved it.
Depuis que le restaurant “Le tour de ville” a fermé, nous cherchions un restaurant ouvert le premier janvier, donc on nous a suggéré le Castillon & nous y sommes allés quelques fois avec mes parents. Ils ont toujours un menu différent avec 4 services & 3 choix différents pour chacun des services. La dernière fois que nous y sommes allés, comme entrée, j’ai pris les pétoncles, mais quand elles sont arrivées, elles étaient froides. Je sais que l’on ne doit pas trop cuire les pétoncles... Même que l’on doit seulement les passé quelques secondes à la poêle pour les réchauffées, mais j’ai horreur des plats froids, donc j’ai demandé s’ils pouvaient les réchauffer & ils ont étés très gentils & ont acceptés sans problème. Puis, le deuxième service était une belle salade mixte dans un joli cône en feuilles phyllos. La salade était bien assaisonnée & elle était fraîche & la pâte phyllo était bien croquante & joliment présentée. Comme plat principal j’ai prit du chevreuil. Il était très goûteux, tendre & bien apprêté. Puis, comme dernier service, ils sont passés avec les desserts... Miammmmm j’aurais prit un morceau de chaque gâteaux & pâtisseries! Je me suis contentée du gâteau aux 3 chocolats, il était frais & délicieux. J’ai bien aimé ce restaurant & la serveuse était très gentille, sympathique & elle était bien informée sur les plats. Nous y retournerons sûrement l’année prochaine ou pour une autre occasion spéciale.
