3) Cadre & ambiance okView more
I have been a regular at the Renoir for many years & use the restaurant for work meetings. After recent experiences, I am sad to say that the Renoir's hey days are sadly over. Whilst the food remains good (but no where near the prepandemic standards), the service has declined dramatically & really mars the overall dining experience. In the last two weeks, I booked a breakfast meeting & then a dinner at the Renoir. On both occaisions the waiters mixed up our orders, were inattentive & slow. Strangely they have difficulty understanding both English & the French we speak in Quebec. They are a younger crew who whilst friendly, are quite disorganised .& uncoordinated. I really hope that this once solidly good Montreal establishment does not go down the drain. The Renoir really needs to look at service very closely should it wish to maintain it's reputation.View more
A super cool restaurant, hidden in the Sofitel Golden Mile, breakfast also is a pleasure, I recommend the Montréalais with salmon & eggs cooked to perfection. Excellent serviceView more
Amazing food. We had a private brunch at Renoir after our wedding. The food was amazing & staff was very helpful & accommodating for allergies. Our guests at an amazing time. It was one of my favourite parts of our wedding.View more
View more
Food was outstanding. I thought that the nearby Rosely's brunch was amazing but this was even better. Service however was a miss. Our waiter did not look like he cared about our table. He was not present during service, we had to ask to refill waters, order coffee, etc. For the quaity of the restaurant I expect top notch service. I still left 15% because I was for a long time in the service industry & the rest of the staff probably pools tips, but I would have probably left well over 20% had the waiter been attentive. The other staff members that picked up plates from our table were very nice, it was just our waiter that seemed to be having a bad day. He did not even stay to take care of the bill or say bye, someone else printed the bill & took payment. Overall amazing food but our experience was tarnished by the service.View more
Over the last few days, Sofitel Montreal hosted the head chefs from Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi for a week of Vietnamese cuisine at Renoir restaurant.
The event's Vietnamese menu consisted of five courses, with two mains to choose from. At $45 per person, there is no denying the bang you are getting for your buck at a place of this standing.
We were delighted by the experience tonight. Aside from the great dining room & service, it was refreshing to eat Vietnamese gastronomy in a posh setting like Renoir's.
