The QG project is summed up in one sentence: Create a place where one can find one's self, and others.
Get together with family, sip an old-fashioned hot chocolate and take advantage of the available board games... Find yourself, take the time to read a good book, have a coffee or an original tea ... Get together with colleagues for a gourmet lunch made with local artisanal products at reasonable prices ... As a couple, to chat and discover the latest homemade pastries ... Get together with friends for a hockey evening with beer & charcuterie pairing ... A suitable and comfortable place for everyone, family, friends or business associates…
To create and develop all these slices of life, the QG is driven by one belief: the quality of our crafts. Being a meeting place is first to use and value the things you love in your immediate environment. That is why, the products come from local or proximity craftsmen the services offered are set up with the companies of La Prairie and promotional activities within the Vieux La Prairie are strongly relayed and communicated.
The door is wide open ... so let's get together soon!
Quartier Général du Vieux La Prairie is a warm, cozy cafe where the coffee is outstanding and the menu ranges from delicious omelettes and bagel sandwiches to fresh pastries, all served by friendly, attentive staff. Ambiance blends rustic charm with modern touches and a welcoming terrace, creating a comfortable spot in the old town that invites working, lingering with friends or a casual meal. Even when busy, the service stays upbeat and efficient, and the quality and value are consistently praised, with many mentioning the place as a hidden gem. Known as a family owned cafe, it offers a homey vibe, pet and baby friendly features, and a sense of community that draws locals and travelers back for another visit.
A beautiful hidden gem for breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is cozy & relaxing, the coffee is great, & it's the perfect place to slow down & enjoy a peaceful morning.
We had the pain au chocolat & the omelette classique. Everything was delicious & perfect. Coffee is outstanding! (I had the Americano).
The service was friendly & fast. The place itself is quite homey with the mix of modern & antique furniture, & tasteful seasonal decor. A+
A Hidden Gem in a Small Town!
We stayed at a place right next to this cozy little café, & what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! For such a small-town spot, the food & service were absolutely top-notch. Their bagel sandwiches & omelets were delicious - fresh, flavorful, & perfectly cooked. The tea & coffee were also excellent, the kind that makes you want to linger a little longer.
We loved it so much that we ended up going three times during our five-day stay! The staff were friendly & welcoming every single visit, which made the experience even better. If you're in the area, this café is definitely worth a visit - you won't regret it! ☕🥯🍳
If you're an amateur of coffee I would highly recommend this little coffee shop. It's the type of place I like to go for an afternoon coffee & a homemade dessert.
We really enjoyed our experience here! I had a Pumpkin Spice Latte & my husband had a cappuccino. It's a cozy little café with a small outdoor area, nice decor, friendly service, & tasty coffee. We'll definitely come again!

Accidentally stumbled upon this town while visiting a friend in the area. The iced coffee with a shot of lavender syrup was exceptional. The right ratio of milk to coffee & just the right amount of sweetness not to be overpowering.
However the total (+ small tip) came to $8, which is more than most coffee shops I've been to, & the portion was quite small.
I'm still leaving a 5 star review because I do think the coffee was excellent, but I would have loved a more affordable coffee or a bigger portion for that price.
Nice place, good service, good food, good coffee, & the best part is it's pet- & baby-friendly. They have a baby changing pad & water/food outside for pets! Love it.
I come here to work! It has a great quality to price ratio & a very homey feel to it. If you're looking for a cute coffee shop on the south shore I recommend this one for sure! From the sandwiches to the soups to coffees to desserts, I've tried alot of it & you can't go wrong. Definitely a hidden gem (although it's often very busy so not so hidden!)
