Qing Hua Dumpling is praised for fresh, handmade dumplings with ultra-thin wrappers and juicy fillings, offering a wide menu that covers pork, shrimp, lamb, and vegetarian options. Prices are affordable and portions generous, making it a solid value whether dining in or ordering takeout. Service is fast and the staff are friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming vibe even when the restaurant is busy. Many reviews call it a reliable go to spot in Chinatown and note a lively atmosphere alongside consistently tasty dumplings. The soup options and sides like wonton soup and pickled cucumbers complement the dumplings, and the chef's surprises are often well received. While crowds and noise can be part of the experience, the overall experience is described as authentic and satisfying, with many repeat visits.
This place has never let us down. It's hands down one of the best dumpling spots we've ever found, & we keep coming back for more. Even during peak hours, when there's often a wait, the staff is incredibly thoughtful. They make sure you're seated as quickly as possible based on the size of your group, though larger parties might need a bit more patience. We've tasted their shrimp soup & hot & sour soup, & both were delicious. They also serve some truly authentic spring rolls. As for the dumplings, we've tried both steamed & pan-fried, but the steamed ones have won our hearts. Our all-time favorites are the chicken coriander & curry chicken dumplings. If you can't decide between steamed & fried, you can even get a half-&-half order for just 50 cents extra. If you find yourself downtown or near Chinatown, do yourself a favor & give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
I found this place to be highly overrated. Their steam dumplings were super disappointing-the skin was of such low quality that they were worse than frozen dumplings. The skin should be soft & tender, but instead, it was dry & hard. I am sure that the dumplings are not handmade. I had high expectations based on the rave reviews, but I was deeply let down by the dumplings. Although the filling was better than the skin, it wasn't enough to redeem the dish. Interestingly, the cucumber dish that was served before the dumplings initially raised my expectations. However, if you have experience with authentic dumplings from Chinese or other Asian restaurants, you'll likely be disappointed with what's offered here. Sadly, I can't recommend this place-especially if you're seeking authentic flavors. I suggest finding another spot.
The dumplings were good for the price. Each plate comes with 15 dumplings. I took the chef's choice, the chicken & coriander, & the curry beef with two other friends & it was just enough.
Dropped by this place for a light snack & ordered the chef's choice to share for 2! It's delicious & service was pretty good as well. Will come back if I visit Montreal again :)
I ordered half beef cheese & hald chicken mushroom, i prefered the beef ones, the service was slow even if it was only three tables. The dumplings were juicy & good.
Easy, fast & tasty. Had 3 sets of steamed soup dumplings (lamb coriander, pork chive, chicken corn) & a very good wonton soup. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
