If you order it they actually charge you $12.99. False advertising. The food is ok though.
Absolutely loved our experience at Khao Peeyo in downtown Montreal! The food was simply outstanding. The starters were the highlight of our meal, especially the Tandoori Fish & the chicken starters-packed with flavor & cooked to perfection.
A special mention to the chef for accommodating our request to make the Chicken Fried Rice in Schezwan style. It turned out absolutely delicious & was one of the best we've ever had!
Without a doubt, this is some of the best Indian food we've had in Canada. To top it all off, Ekta was an amazing host-warm, attentive, & made us feel so welcome throughout our visit.
Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Indian food in Montreal. We'll definitely be back!
Wonderful dinner experience on a visit to Montreal. The restaurant is situated in a basement on Rue Sherbrooke. The dining area is clean & well-appointed. Walls are beautifully decorated with murals evocative of Punjab. Apparently crowds show up around 10 PM & linger until 2 AM, the restaurant's closing time. When we dined around 7:30, we & one other guest were the only ones there, although a steady stream of to-go orders was evident throughout our stay. The star of the evening was undoubtedly our hostess & server, Ekta! What a lovely young woman - attentive, friendly, caring, chatty- we thoroughly enjoyed her company! Oh, & the food too was fresh & flavorful; quantities were ample - Pani Puri, Salt Lassi, Adrak/Masala Chai, Malai Methi Matar, Chicken Kadahi, Tandoori Roti, Lachcha Paratha, & Jeera Rice. Service was quick & attentive. The meal for two set us back approximately CAD 100 (including taxes snd a generous, well-deserved tip). Glad we visited. All the best to Ekta!
Had a delicious chicken curry thali. I also ordered a mango lassi & it wasn't too sweet, I could still taste the tartness from the yogurt. Most places do overwhelm the yogurt with too much mango/sugar but this place is legit. Will be coming back!
Mix pakora & chilli chicken is best chef is very talented & very best dishes must try & sevice is also good
We ordered takeout for curries, the paneer tikka masala & butter chicken. Both were super delicious!
We had late night dinner there, staff was so lovely, nice & welcoming. Taste like heaven, must try butter chicken & paneer tikka with lemonade.
We came here tonight as a group of five, & unfortunately the food was very disappointing. We ordered three meat dishes-chicken karahi, chicken jalfrezi, & a mixed grill-but all of them were mostly vegetables, with only two or three very small pieces of chicken in each dish.
We also ordered chicken biryani & lamb biryani, but both tasted like plain rice & didn't resemble biryani at all-not even close. Overall, the portions of meat were extremely small & the flavors were not what we expected. Very disappointing experience. Not recommended
Absolutely amazing experience! We ordered the butter chicken & the lamb vindaloo & both were outstanding. The flavors were rich, perfectly spiced, & clearly made with care. The lamb was incredibly tender & the butter chicken was creamy & full of flavor. One of the best Indian meals we've had in Montreal. Highly recommend!
