Pub Pit Caribou Montréal comes across as a go to spot for beer lovers and friends, with a consistently chill vibe and attentive staff who often offer solid beer recommendations and local activity tips. The beer selection gets high marks for variety and quality, including notable IPAs, a porter, a unique raspberry wheat, and seasonal choices. The atmosphere is described as welcoming, with a pleasant terrace and bright lighting, though a few reviews note that service can slow down when the bar is busy. Food quality is generally praised, with items like grilled cheese and poutine mentioned, while some long time patrons lament a menu change and feel prices have risen; there is also a sense that some shifts in staffing have affected the overall experience. Across the board, visitors praise the beer and the staff, with many saying they would return, while a minority call out inconsistencies in busier times or a desire for stronger background music. The overall impression is that Pub Pit Caribou Montréal is among Montreal's better beer bars, known for strong beer, friendly service, and a convivial setting.
This is great beer. Really above average IPA's & a delightful raspberry wheat that is super unique. Great service. Will certainly return again if ever in the area

Unfortunately Pit Caribou isn't what it once was. We have been coming here for years 6+ & noticed a slight decline in the food & service.
The first big red flag they removed was a staple item from the menu. The fresh cheese with onion jam & a half baguette. Such a simple easy & delicious item. Now gone. & replaced with other over priced bigger items.
Staff also seemed to just generally be less friendly & attentive.
Probably won't be back, lost one of our Montreal favorites.
Bonne bière, une des très rares places a Montréal où on peut régulièrement trouver des bières de l'Abri de la Tempête en fût, en plus d'une bonne sélection de gueuze Staff très sympathique
