Afficher toutpoutine(215) burger(27) sauce(21) recommend(18) fries(17) cheese(15) frite(14) vibe(12) classic(10) fromage(9) gravy(9) tasty(9)This place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere was fantastic, & the food was delicious. For the $18 price point, I would have appreciated a bit more in terms of toppings & gravy, but overall the quality & taste were excellent. We found it by chance while walking, & I'm very glad we decided to stop in.
I feel bad rating a 2 because the guy was nice. He explained the limited menu right when we walked in, & the service was good. Genuinely - the poutine just wasn't great. The cheese was squeaky, but I felt there was no flavor to the gravy, & the fries tasted like old fair fries. It was also only two guys working, we got a dirty fork, & a glance into the kitchen area sent me spiraling because I'm a bit high maintenance with cleanliness & it just wasn't up to my standard. There were no glaring red flags, but I still was fighting back a panic attack over a freaking bowl of poutine! The tables aren't comfortable. They're a bit odd & don't work for young kids. The playlist was good, though. 90s vibe. Wouldn't return, personally but hope they can improve if this is their dream!
Fun little spot with tasty food at a good price, within easy walking distance of the Botanical Gardens. The classic poutine had a rich gravy & they were VERY generous with the cheese curds, which is always a plus. Nice fresh coleslaw with a tangy dressing, & a wide selection of premium soft drinks made it easy to round out the meal.
Staff is very friendly & were patient with an anglophone like myself; counter service was prompt, with food being brought out to the table. Restaurant is busy with takeout service, but the space is well appointed so you can relax with your food without feeling rushed. Atmosphere is hip without trying too hard, it definitely has that unique Montréal vibe!
We were visiting Montreal & our friends took us here. We had the classic & it was soooo delicious. The potatoes they use was so good. Gravy & cheese were not overpowering. One of the best poutines I've had. But the vibe was good & it was close to Mount Royal, Olympic stadium, biodome, botanical garden. Great spot!
Reviews were good so we tried it out. We ordered takeout, two poutines & a burger. Burger was very good but poutine was a letdown. We ordered a large & the box was stuffed 97% with fries with only a bit of cheese sprinkled on top, & it was dry because there was not enough gravy. The small poutine we ordered was decent & proportions of cheese/fries/gravy were normal. Probably wouldn't go back.
The gravy on the poutine was very wet, like a soup. Fries were a bit overcooked. Similar prices to la banquise but the portions are a bit smalle
The poutine is delicious! Very comparable to La Banquise in taste. The price was a bit expensive for the portion (small) & it could have used more gravy, but I would definitely return.
Good prices, gravy & cheese are spot on but the fries were just a tad fried for too long ( had the classic poutine)
Very yummy poutine near Olympic stadium. We had the large classic & Montreal poutines both were more than enough people for our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teens). Gravy is delicious & cheese curds parfait 😋.
If you are in the area & are craving a montreal classic (poutine), this is a good place to start. The selection is amazing. The service was fine . The restaurant is well decorated & clean. It's a semi open concept, meaning you can see the cook preparing your food. Which is a good bonus for me. Now for the negative. We did need to wait a little for our food, granted that 8 people went in ahead of us, & we all ordered at the same time. So, I'm not knocking it for that. For some reason, the guy at the front was doubling as a cashier & cook at the same time & worked alone for a while. (We went in close to lunch time. There is no reason for only one employee to be there). Another issue that we experienced was overcooked fries. This issue will usually make a break a poutine, but since the rest of the poutine was well topped & the gravy was food it ended up being passable. I am willing to try this restaurant again to see if the overcooked fries were a result of being flooded with customers.
Actually a really rustic looking corner restaurant with wood & steel interiors. It's giving industrial vibes. Anyway, fairly empty of a Tuesday afternoon. A bit if a walk after having visited the BioDome earlier but there are only so many options nearby. We took a chance on Poutine Centrale & were not disappointed. There are some tables in the front & then the ordering counter. Plenty of seating in the back as well. Heard good things about the Jacqueline so we got a small to share with 2 sodas. It was the perfect snack. Loved loved loved the fried cheese. Went well with the sour cream & gravy & bacon. The day was beautiful so they also opened up the windows.
