Overall, Poutine Centrale offers a wide variety of poutines with generous portions and flavorful sauces, and the fries stay crisp while the toppings stay tasty. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is lively and local, and many visits highlight quick service and good value for money, making it a reliable spot for a quick bite near the botanical garden or for a family outing.
If you are in the area & are craving a montreal classic (poutine), this is a good place to start. The selection is amazing. The service was fine . The restaurant is well decorated & clean. It's a semi open concept, meaning you can see the cook preparing your food. Which is a good bonus for me. Now for the negative. We did need to wait a little for our food, granted that 8 people went in ahead of us, & we all ordered at the same time. So, I'm not knocking it for that. For some reason, the guy at the front was doubling as a cashier & cook at the same time & worked alone for a while. (We went in close to lunch time. There is no reason for only one employee to be there). Another issue that we experienced was overcooked fries. This issue will usually make a break a poutine, but since the rest of the poutine was well topped & the gravy was food it ended up being passable. I am willing to try this restaurant again to see if the overcooked fries were a result of being flooded with customers.
The food & service was good. It's technically a take out place, you pay first & then you sit down & then they will give you your food at your table. I think for most a small size poutine would be fine. A regular size you would have to share with someone.
First time there was great. I had the poutine with chicken & peas. It was yummy. Staff was helpful & patient with my very limited French. Second time... not so much. Didn't give us waters until we asked multiple times. & the cheese on my Jaqueline was burned & too crispy to eat. He had zero personality & was not at all helpful. Guy 2 could learn a lot from Guy 1. Atmosphere is open air & industrial trendy.
I'm at a loss for words-simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, & the staff provided exceptionally polite service. We thoroughly enjoyed both the cuisine & the warm hospitality. We'll definitely return on our next trip to Montreal.

A neighborhood poutine restaurant with authentic flare. While they offer other dishes including hamburgers the main event (as the name suggests) is poutine. Offered in 3 distinct categories: regular, gourmet, & special the meals feature combinations of popular dishes like bbq, Philly cheese, hot chicken & so on. Seemingly small & with a never ending line the space can be deceiving as the staff does a fantastic job of preparing fresh food quickly & moving people in & out. We tried most of the menu to the point where I could not eat another fry. All flavors didn't disappoint
