Review Summary

Poutine Centrale is widely celebrated as a premier destination for those seeking an authentic and delicious poutine experience in Montreal. Visitors frequently highlight the impressive variety of poutine options, noting that the fries are consistently fresh, the gravy is rich, and the cheese curds are perfectly squeaky. Beyond the food, the restaurant is praised for its welcoming and hip atmosphere, often described as a local gem with cool industrial decor and a friendly vibe that makes guests feel comfortable. While wait times can occasionally be longer during peak weekend hours, the staff members are consistently described as incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating to both French and English speakers. Whether visiting after a trip to the botanical garden or simply hunting for the best comfort food in town, guests find the generous portions and quality ingredients make this spot a highly recommended destination.

Many options to choose from but of course I had to get the classic. I wasn't impressed, I thought the sauce was bland & the fries were overcooked/mushy. Better than anything you can get out of province, but that's a low bar. The portion was big, but it was also just over 20$ after tax, which I find is way too much for a poutine, let alone a mediocre one.
