Located in Old Montreal since 2005, Porto Mar is the ideal spot for romantic dinners, business meetings, casual encounters, birthdays and other special events. Our restaurant is located in a beautiful historic building with a unique old world charm.
Our menu offers a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes as well as fresh fish, seafood, steak and a choice of grilled specialties. We also have many gluten free options. via LibroYou MUST visit this restaurant! We recently visited in mid May & had a lovely table by the front window. Absolutely delicious & authentic Portuguese food: all five of our entrees were excellent, including the soup & escargot, & my sister is still dreaming of the shrimp dish! Loved the décor, ambiance & beauty of this historic building. Antonio was extremely personable & our waiter was exceptional. Highly recommend this venue for the food, the staff & the restaurant itself, we will definitely be back when we return to Old Montreal!! Thank you both for a delicious meal & very memorable evening!

via LibroWe enjoyed one of the best meals on our 10 day trip through Montreal & Quebec City at Porto Mar. The three course prix fixe meal was the perfect balance with the Portuguese fisherman's stew being an absolute highlight. We also had an excellent Portuguese wine that was recommended by our server since we love Chardonnay & we had difficulty finding that on most Canadian menus or even in liquor stores. Porto Mar has a charming ambiance in old Montreal just off the busy St. Paul street & feel confident in recommending this restaurant.

via LibroThis is the best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal. All the plates are so good that it is hard to pick only one. Had the portuguese soup & the fish of the day which was cod & it melted in the mouth. The mix of flavors are exquisite & the portions just right. Dessert was excellent as well. Kudos to the cooks & the staff know how to make you feel at home. I highly recommend this place.
