I absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant: the food, drinks, & atmosphere were all fantastic, & the waitstaff were incredibly kind & hardworking. Honestly, they made the visit enjoyable from start to finish.
The only negative was the manager. She was slow to respond & seemed more focused on chatting & flirting at the bar than managing the restaurant, which sometimes caused delays. I also witnessed her yelling at staff, which was really uncomfortable to see, especially considering how dedicated & professional the team is. It was frustrating because the staff were trying their best, & the manager's behavior made an otherwise perfect experience a little tense. I hope management addresses this, because the restaurant itself is excellent & deserves leadership that supports its team.View more
Melia Steak Bar has some of the most amazing food I've tasted in a long time! Each dish was expertly prepared & bursting with flavor. However, the service was noticeably slow, seemingly due to the manager's inattentiveness ,she appeared more focused on flirting with people at the bar & took an unusually long time to prepare drinks. Despite this, our waiter, a young man with black curly hair & a a small beard, provided excellent service with a genuine smile. His attentiveness & positive attitude really stood out. I hope management addresses the service issues so that the overall experience can match the quality of the food.View more
I visited the restaurant today craving a pizza, but when it came time to pay, I realized I didn't have enough money. To my surprise, the manager stepped in without hesitation, using her own card to cover the rest of the bill. It wasn't just about the money it was the kindness & generosity behind her gesture that truly touched me. In a world where people can often be in a hurry, she reminded me that genuine kindness still exists. I left not only full from the delicious pizza, but also with my heart warmed by her beautiful act.View more
My family & I went to this new restaurant during the Italian Festival, & the whole night was ruined because of our waiter, Brian. From the moment we sat down, he made the experience about himself instead of the customers. He spent most of our meal bashing his own manager, going on & on about workplace drama that no paying guest should have to hear. It was not only unprofessional but also incredibly awkward.
To make matters worse, Brian kept asking us to leave him a good personal review, as if that would somehow make up for the lack of proper service. We came for a nice dinner, not to be pressured into boosting someone's online ratings.
The most bizarre part of the night happened when I went to the bar to get a straw for my drink. I saw Brian bring the customer from the table next to ours over to the manager, in the middle of service, to demand a discount & a free coffee. This was unbelievable to watch a competent server would handle such a matter privately & calmly, not drag their guest into an awkward confrontation that only made them more upset.
Brian's behavior screamed unprofessionalism from start to finish. Instead of focusing on the guests' experience, he seemed more interested in stirring drama, complaining, & pushing for personal favors. The restaurant itself might have potential, but with staff like this representing it, I can't see myself returning anytime soon.View more
We went to this restaurant on Saturday night during the Italian week & yes the street was full of people. The terrace at this restaurant was packed with a lineup, we decided to sit inside. I spoke to the lady in charge & she found us a table. Then the a person came & gave us a menu. It didn't take us long to decide what we wanted & told this person it would be a wood oven pizza. (40$) She informed us that it would take 10 minutes! She left & went elsewhere in the restaurant. Ambiance was so,so well lite up & people sitting at tables chit chatting. The pizza oven was full speed ahead. Pizzas were going in & out like it was going out of style. We continued waiting & the lady wasn't coming by. No glasses of water nothing. I got up went to the front & told the lady that we needed glasses & water. She pointed to a tray of glasses & said water would come. Never did till the end. The person we thought was a waiter turned out to be the manager (Ellie)& really didn't know what she was doing. She was lost talking to anyone while carrying someone's drink 🍹 in her hand. I asked her the pizza 🍕 was & she said it's coming now. This was 20 minutes later. She arrived with a pizza, but it was the wrong order. Said oops & went back to the oven. 20 minutes later I got up & went to the oven, just as the pizza came out. Still no water or ice. We had to order a bottle of bubbly to get by. The pizza was nothing fantastic for the money we paid. The sauce tasted like it was from a can & unfortunately the veggies were not cooked well. We managed to get a waiter (Brian) from another section to help us out & he was great. Got us water & kept filling up the glasses with ice. When he confronted the manager she blasted him & said she didn't know what she was doing. Finally a confession!! Our ordeal was because of her. If you see her change tables or do what a full table did. Walk out!!View more
Wow, the waitress also manager & owner sucked !! I know it was Italian week festival but as professionals you should be prepared … she originally told us 10 for our order , then she brought water & forgot the glasses , another 15m wait for them , then forgot the pizza , then' n 2 tables walked out totalling about 20 people .. then she brought pizza & no extra plates to share .. basically she would bring 1 item at a time & forgetting the rest !!!! A real flake !!
Thank his for Brian who made up for alll her mistakes !! He should be the manger !! People skills , kind & honest !! Well we have him a nice tip … we will not be going back … the manager/owner , she should go take some courses on human dynamics & relations.. not to mention professionalism!! The pizza was nothing special .. sauce is canned !! What a shame for little Italy , great location with so much more potential !!
To the owners clean up your act , if you want to succeed , because many people were complaining & this not only Italian week festival!!!!!View more
My family & I went to Melia Steak & Bar for dinner today, & we had a wonderful experience. The hostess was so nice. she greeted us warmly, seated us with menus, & let us know they were busy so the food might take longer than usual. She was very sweet & apologetic.
Our waiter was incredible! He was understanding of our food restrictions & offered to modify anything to meet our needs. The food did take a while to come out, but it was worth the wait. I've never tasted steak like that before. It was so tender & cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was amazing, with a lively crowd that made the place feel full of energy. Some guests seemed upset about the wait times, but all the staff were polite, apologetic, & explained the situation clearly.
I'd 100% recommend this place for a family meal with a great vibe.
just maybe avoid going during a festival with thousands of people if you don't have much patience. We also want the manager to know that our waiter (the handsome guy with the beard!) was incredibly helpful & kind to us.View more

Melia is located in the heart of little Italy, which makes for a beautiful atmosphere. We wanted to try it out because it was previously another restaurant we enjoyed very much. I really liked the food. I thought the standout dishes were the penne romanoff & the grilled sausage appetizer. The penne dish was very flavourful & pasta cooked nicely, just a little over al dente. The sauce for the sausage was very delicious, & if you ask for a basket of bread it is the perfect pairing. I was not crazy about the salmon tartare, it was slightly bland but nothing a little lemon juice & spicy oil couldn't fix. Calamari was pretty good too, the spicy mayo was a nice touch.View more

Delicious food! We were a big group & had the meat platter, cowboy steak, full piri piri chicken, & salads. Everything was really really great & the service was amazing too. Also, there's a full bar & the drinks were great (& strong). Strong recommend.View more
