Spanish tapas to accompany the super fresh, fun & always rotating wine list. This is one of those places where you say a couple qualifying characteristics you like in wine & they will find you a perfect match.
Perfect wine bar...wish it was my local one --- out-of-towner here. Beautifully selected wines & the bites are perfect to pair with the drinks. The staff are all friendly & professh, & super cute.
Polari in Montreal is a casual, relaxed spot that's best for drinks with friends rather than a full dinner.
It has a very good selection of wines, & ordering is done at the counter, which keeps the experience simple & laid-back.
The food is good but quite simple, more light bites & snacks than anything heavy or elaborate.
Overall, it's a great place to grab a drink, share a few plates, & hang out, with a strong focus on wine rather than a full dining experience.
Polari is a perfect neighborhood bar. In a compact space on a quiet street, it's where wine nerds & locals who are in-the-know go. They gave a great selection of natural wine, & when I'm not drinking I love that they carry Drinks Farm. There are also some snacks that are simple & pair well with a glass of something bright & irreverent. Service is knowledgeable & present without being overbearing. A true Montreal gem.
Been here three times. I find their wines overpriced & mediocre. The non alcoholic options are terrible. & the food options are laughable & overpriced.
The service matches Parisian standards. We are grateful to be served.
The appeal of a neighbourhood bar is understandable. But using queerness as a way to celebrate or propagate mediocrity is disappointing.
Went to Polari a couple of times in the past few weeks & had always had a great time.
The food portions aren't big, so it takes a few different plates if you're looking to make a meal, but they're all delicious (even the bread with whipped butter is a hit!) & perfect for snacking.
The wine selection is excellent, varied, & just extensive enough to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. For non-wine drinkers, the cocktails are also top notch & the beer selection is small but solid.
The service is absolutely wonderful! Everyone is very friendly & super knowledgeable about both the food & drinks, so if you're unsure of what to take, they'll be able to help guide you to something you'll enjoy.
The decor is simple, but strikes an awesome balance between chic & warm/cozy. Music adds to the atmosphere, but is still quiet enough that you can easily talk without needing to raise your voice.
I definitely recommend Polari for a drink & snacks!
Excellent bar, I love the wine selections here & the care & love that is brought to the menu. Makes my heart warm!
This is honestly one of the most refreshing spots to go to in the city. I've been quite a bit of times over the past year & I can earnestly say that the wine list has been incredibly curated, affordable & everything glass I've had has been insanely delicious. The food also packs its punch. Small sharing plates with produce from JT market & fish/seafood conservas in cans that I'm a total sucker for. Can't recommend this place enough 🫰
literally my fav wine bar in mtl. nice small menu, nice wines & perfect chill place for friends, dates, work 5@7.
Wine list curated with love, nice snacks, all within a charming & intimate space. It's minimal, tasteful, & intentional. Absolutely will be back!
Also they have a terrasse ✅
