This cozy little café with a real Pinocchio obsession takes the humble grilled cheese extremely seriously - in the best possible way. Every sandwich is made fresh when you order it (no pre-made, reheated imposters here) & served in a basket meant for enjoying right there, while it's perfectly warm & gloriously melty.
The classic grilled cheese was everything you could hope for: outrageously cheesy without tipping into salty overload, perfectly crisped, & comfortingly indulgent. But the real fun comes from their creative variations.
We tried the new Grilled Mac & Cheese, which turned out to be exactly what our imaginations had hoped for - delightfully decadent & unapologetically comforting.
& the Bugia grilled cheese, filled with brie, sundried tomatoes, & goat cheese. Already a dream combination… but we added honey, & suddenly the whole thing crossed into mind-blowing territory. Sweet, tangy, creamy, crunchy - a sandwich with personality.
The café itself feels like stepping into a living scrapbook. Family & friends' photos line the walls, giving the whole space a warm, genuine charm. The tables are painted in cheerful colors that echo Pinocchio's palette, & instead of bar stools, everyone sits comfortably - which makes it feel even more welcoming.
It's a place that works for absolutely everyone: kids, families, couples, dogs, & people like me who simply show up with a serious grilled cheese craving.
There are books, games, & colouring books for kids, making it easy to linger. It's also a surprisingly lovely place to work for a bit while enjoying a sandwich & a coffee.

Between the thoughtful food, the playful atmosphere, & the genuinely warm people behind it all, it feels less like a café & more like a place where life just naturally happens - one perfectly grilled sandwich at a time.
C'est le meilleur café du quartier selon moi!
Le café a un vrai bon goût de café (idem pour le latte) & les prix sont très corrects par rapport à la plupart des autres cafés du coin.

Such a shame to have a cozy welcoming place be catered by relentless complaining employees whose frustrations seem to prime over simple courtesy. Grow up ladies, you've got paying customers, family & children who deserve better than earfuls of gripes.
Le Café Pinocchio, c'est un endroit unique, où l'on se sent faire partie d'une famille. La générosité, c'est la qualité numéro un de cette équipe, & ça se manifeste à l'échelle de la relation client comme à l'échelle du quartier, de la collectivité, à qui elle redonne beaucoup & souvent. À mes yeux, le meilleur café de Montréal! Vous ne trouverez nulle part ailleurs une ambiance aussi chaleureuse & inclusive qu'au Pinocchio. L'équipe est extraordinaire & a su faire de ce café une place de partage qui pourrait rappeler l'ambiance des petits cafés de village. Les sandwichs, grilled cheese & viennoiseries sont délicieux & diversifiés. On y vient pour jaser, lire, travailler ou sortir en famille… Tous les amis à qui j'ai fait découvrir cette place ont été conquis ❤?
Wrong opening time ! We came from Laval after checking the opening hours & finding that it was open. We arrived at 12 & the shop was closed, with a sign on the door saying it opens at 11.
J'ai quand même été déçue de mon experience dans ce café. Même si la nourriture est très bonne, je trouve exagéré de payer 13$ pour un grilled cheese aux pommes. J'ai aussi trouvé le service très désagréable. Ça parle fort, ça crie partout, c'est bête. Ce qui semble être la propriétaire est particulièrement pénible. aussi, petite note: on est au Québec, servez-nous en français svp!

Cute little sandwich shop I walk past every morning. As the name suggests, the theme of this cafe is based on Pinocchio, even their menu. They have a good amount of sandwich variations; we tried one chicken sandwich & a croissant ham sandwich. For the price, the quality is definitely up there. Cool employees, & I can see it's very kid/family-friendly.

Belle ambiance, bien appuyée par les appuis de bois vieilli dans la décoration des murs. Bon café, bonne sélection de cafés & boissons, bien situé en plein coeur de Villeray. Si la porte principale pouvait se refermer d'elle-même, ce serait encore mieux, surtout par temps hivernal. Merci!
This is one of my favorite cozy cafes in Villeray. It's usually full of people but not too full & I can see why, it's such a cute, friendly environment & you feel like such a kid. Its light & airy & great for working, the baristas are super sweet. Their hot chocolate & homemade chai lattes are delicious & so are all the food options I've tried - croissants, grilled cheese, bagels. You will feel like a joyous kindergartener here.
Lovely cafe with an amazing kid area, which is so rare & such a gem for getting together with friends & letting your little ones play! Nice variety of baked goods. Friendly staff & warm, inviting atmosphere.
(One thing that would really help the kid friendly-ness & super appreciated would be a change table in the bathroom!! 🙏🏼)
