Review Summary

Pinnacle Wagyu receives significant praise for its high-quality steak, flavorful meat, and standout truffle fries, with many patrons calling their cheesesteak and steak frites some of the best in Montreal. Visitors often appreciate the friendly service and the cozy, convenient location in the Old Port, frequently highlighting the juicy, tender preparation of the beef. While the majority of guests are satisfied with the value and taste, some reviews mention inconsistencies regarding portion sizes, long wait times, limited seating space, or preferences for different levels of meat doneness. Despite mixed opinions on pricing and minor logistical complaints, the general consensus describes the restaurant as a must-visit spot for gourmet sandwiches and quality deli food.

We ordered the steak & fries, along with the Pinnacle sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. The fries came with Parmesan, which made them even better.
The place was pretty busy, but the food was really tasty & the portion sizes were generous🌟🙏🏾 thank you

Excellente viande & magnigique endroit. On a essayé l'assiete wagyu & le sanwich cheesesteak pinnacle & on a préféré la viande seule.

The Pinnacle Cheesesteak was delicious even without the cheese (lactose-intolerant)! Fries & limonade were great too! Will definitely go back

First off, I'd like to say that I enjoyed my experience at Pinnacle Wagyu Deli. I ordered the steak frites, & the quality of the steak was very good. My only disappointment was that I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. The steak arrived medium to medium-well, whereas I normally prefer rare or medium-rare.

The fries were quite tasty, & the sauce paired with them was excellent. However, the portion of sauce provided was a bit disappointing considering the amount of fries served I found myself running out well before finishing them.

Overall, it's a great spot with a lot of potential. The food quality is there, & with a few minor adjustments, such as asking customers for their preferred steak doneness & providing a larger sauce portion, the experience could be even better.

Got the cheesesteak & the Steak Frites when I went. Cheesesteak was sub par. Hard to eat (big chunks of steak), the flavour of the aioli & the flavour of the beef, cheese, & veggies clashed. I've had far better, far simpler & moderately cheaper cheesesteaks. Bread was fantastic. As for the steak frites, the beef was decent & the aioli was crazy good, but they only give you a stupidly small amount. I probably got 3-4 bites with the aioli.

My main issue overall was that the beef was chewy for both orders. I thought that was odd for a place called Pinnacle Wagyu.

Atmosphere & service was super duper.

Overall, I won't go back, but I wish them the best.

We kept hearing some variation of'the best Wagyu deli in Montreal,' which immediately raised an important question: are there actually enough, or any, Wagyu delis in Montreal to make this a competitive category? (If so, genuinely, can the aforementioned influencers please enlighten me? I'm interested.)

Anyway, setting aside the dramatic clickbait titles & glowing slow-motion steak videos, we skipped the famous Wagyu-&-fries situation (Steak Frites'On the Road'). Partly because I don't particularly like fries 🤷?♂? & partly because I wanted a sandwich.
Also, I'm not sure if it's there as a joke or for price anchoring, but the idea of a $150 Kobe steak option being on the menu of a mostly takeout sandwich counter raises many philosophical questions...

Instead, we went with the Pinnacle Cheesesteak, which was apparently one of their most recommended items. First, if cheese was present, it was very subtle-we didn't taste it at all. What absolutely did show up was the steak. A lot of it. I definitely got my 20$ worth on that. You mostly taste beef, a vaguely savory sauce, & admittedly solid bread holding everything together pretty well. (Bread is important.)

For what it is, it's alright. It's well located for tourists & locals roaming around the historic area, the portions are good enough, & the pricing feels pretty aligned with other trendy sandwich spots in the city. No major complaints there.
But does it live up to the hype? No, not even close. I think that says more about the marketing style than the food itself, though.

I recently tried Pinnacle Wagyu & had a really great experience overall. I ordered the On the Road Wagyu & really enjoyed it.

It wasn't the most tender Wagyu I've had, but it was still incredibly flavorful & genuinely delicious, the taste definitely stood out. The truffle fries were also amazing & paired really well with the meal. Everything felt fresh & thoughtfully prepared.

There was a bit of a wait as the restaurant was quite busy, which is understandable given how popular it's been getting online. I can definitely empathize with the staff; they handled everything professionally despite the rush.

Overall, I was really impressed & would absolutely go back again soon !!
