Piatti Pronti has become one of our favourite Italian restaurants in Laval, & we return regularly. What makes it so special is that it feels like a genuine, family-style neighbourhood restaurant-not one of those trendy new places trying to create attention through décor, social media, or manufactured buzz. The focus here is exactly where it should be: excellent food, quality ingredients, warm hospitality, & consistency.
Rocco, the owner, is almost always there, personally greeting guests & making everyone feel welcome. His presence gives the restaurant so much character & makes every visit feel personal. You can tell that he truly cares about his customers, his team, & the quality of everything being served. He also knows many of his suppliers personally, which says a lot about the care that goes into selecting the ingredients & wines.
I tend to order pasta with simpler sauces because I believe the simplest dishes are often the best test of a restaurant. When there are only a few ingredients on the plate, there is nowhere for poor quality or technique to hide. Piatti Pronti consistently gets those dishes right-the pasta, sauces, seasoning, & ingredients all come together beautifully. Everything tastes fresh, authentic, & prepared with real attention.
They also have an excellent wine selection, & Rocco is very knowledgeable & always happy to help choose the right bottle to accompany the meal. The staff is friendly, attentive, & welcoming without ever making the experience feel overly formal.
Piatti Pronti is the kind of restaurant that earns loyal customers through genuinely delicious food & sincere hospitality. It is comfortable, lively, unpretentious, & consistently excellent. We always look forward to returning & highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian food & a true family-restaurant experience in Laval.
First time visit, after reading reviews I said I'll try it,Ivan the waiter took my orders, calamari , escargot,as starters, escargot never came, main plate I took pene arabiata,my girlfriend took a pizza, pene was very spicy, never I had such spicy, the tomato sauce looked like they just heated some canned sauce, the pizza I give it 5 over 10
All in all way too pricey for what you get.
The addition came I checked if they charged me the escargot,it wasn't,so I told the waiter you didn't bring me the escargot, the answer was you didn't order it ,I told him check my order & there it was on the paper he took the order,he goes sorry about that,so you have a reason to come back again, didn't offer a coffee to compensate, the least he could have done.
But there will not be second time.

Went on a Friday night & the atmosphere was lively from the moment we walked in. There was live music, a birthday celebration dancing, & the owner personally serving tables, which made it feel welcoming & festive.
We shared calamari, meatballs, burrata & salmon tartare, then ordered aglio e olio, pomodoro & a Mediterranea pizza. The simple pasta sauces were well prepared & satisfying.
This is not a trendy downtown Italian spot. It feels like a classic neighborhood restaurant where dinner can easily turn into a celebration. Great option in Laval if you're looking for live music & a fun atmosphere.
I went to Piatti Pronti for a Friday night Galentine's dinner with my friends Farzy, Sarah, Steph & it ended up being way more fun than we expected.
From the moment we walked in, the energy felt lively… almost like stepping into an Italian family reunion. There's a signed Céline Dion photo at the entrance, which already tells you this is not going to be a quiet, minimalist dinner spot. It has big personality & it embraces it.
We were served by Rocco, the owner, which made the experience feel personal & welcoming from the start. Throughout the night, a live performer named Giorgio sang everything from Lady Gaga to classic oldies. He was genuinely sweet & knew how to read the room. At one point, a large birthday table was pulled up to dance multiple times, & the whole restaurant felt like it was part of the celebration. It turned dinner into an experience.
For entrées, we shared the calamari, meatballs, burrata & salmon tartare. Everything was great for sharing. The burrata was fresh & creamy, the meatballs were comforting & saucy, & the calamari was a solid way to start the night.
For mains, we ordered the aglio e olio & pomodoro pastas, along with the Mediterranea pizza. I always think simple sauces say a lot about a kitchen, & both pastas were well prepared & satisfying. Steph & I shared a bottle of red wine & also tasted a few cocktails, which made it feel like a full Friday night out rather than just a quick dinner.

I took my mom to Piatti Pronti for Mother's Day, & it was hands-down one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, & full of charm - the perfect mix of elegance & comfort.
The staff made us feel genuinely welcome & went out of their way to make the day special for my mom. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive without being intrusive, & had great recommendations that turned out to be spot on.
Now the food… wow. Every dish was bursting with flavor - from the homemade pasta that melted in our mouths to the perfectly balanced sauces & fresh, vibrant ingredients. My mom had the shrimp/pasta olio. I had the lamb, & it was cooked to absolute perfection - fresh, light, & so satisfying.
We finished the meal with a classic tiramisu that tasted like it came straight out of a Roman café.
Truly, Piatti Pronti made this Mother's Day one to remember. We left full, happy, & already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend!
Phew! Am I hallucinating here?! 2- Un tiramisu « commercial » immangeable - arrosé aussi du même sirop Hershey cheap - le 3/4 est resté dans l'assiette (!!!). Affreux! & pas de gelato?! Dans un restaurant italien?! Wow... [slowly clapping hands] Bravo.... Le meilleur du repas? La Heineken « 0 » & l'eau San Pellegrino (!!!). C'est tout dire. 125 $/2 [avec service médiocre] All & all : 2 étoiles/5 Mai più!
