Review Summary

Pho Tay Ho earns praise for a broth that is flavorful and light, with the chicken pho and the chicken with giblets often singled out as exceptional, while the beef pho offers a heavier, satisfying option for those craving a richer profile. The menu is described as small but carefully curated, prioritizing fresh, authentic ingredients and generous portions at friendly prices. Diners often call it the best pho in town or comparable to the best found in Vietnam, and the place is noted for fast, reliable service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Some reviews caution that broth quality can vary and meat portions may fall short on certain visits, and a few say prices can be high for the value. Overall, Pho Tay Ho is viewed as a reliable, high quality option for Vietnamese staples in a compact, approachable setting.

Went for lunch a couple of times & tried the beef Pho, sometimes the broth was somewhat tasty & other times quite watery lacking flavour. Will not return, there are better restaurants in Montreal that are more consistent in the flavor of their Pho.

Been there a few times & I love a dish that has grilled pork in it . Sadly the service we got on that day was so so - we didn't get any tea , the waiter got lost with drinks he brought us drinks from a different table order , he forgot to keep the spoons on the table .

In Any case who cares about the service if you have great food :)

One of the few restaurants open the day my friend & I wanted to grab some food. Well, my friend really wanted some Vietnamese soup, specifically, because he wasn't feeling well & the weather was absolutely awful cold with tons of snow from a recent blizzard. It was during the Christmas holidays, we were disappointed that our favourite restaurant was closed. A passerby suggested Pho Tay Ho. Wow! We were very impressed. We both had versions of the soup. I had the seafood soup & he had the chicken soup. My friend had suggested that "seafood" soup doesn't always mean what you think, but in this case, I was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent high-quality seafood, including quite a few large shrimp, grilled & put into the soup. Wow. My friend really liked his chicken vegetable soup as well. Our only disappointment was the imperial rolls we ordered as appetizers. They were really small. My friend joked we should have gotten two orders each instead of two orders between us. They were good, just kind of disappointing in size.

The service was excellent. I look forward to going there again!
