Review Summary

Pho Anni is repeatedly praised for generous portions and good value, with bowls described as hearty and satisfying, and the grilled plates and sides like spring rolls and shrimp tempura earning steady compliments. The broth is a common highlight for warmth and balance, though a number of reviews note that it can feel a bit bland or lacking depth on some visits and that consistency can vary, especially when the kitchen is busy. Service is often described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, but a few reviews mention slow or uneven service and long waits, sometimes tied to being short staffed. The ambiance is frequently called cozy, clean, and welcoming, with a pleasant vibe and a family run feel that many return to for the reliable lunch specials and generous meat portions. Overall, Pho Anni is regarded as a solid Montreal option for pho and Vietnamese favorites, offering affordable prices, a wide menu, and flavors that satisfy a craving while leaving some days with room for improvement in broth depth and front of house consistency.

The broth for the soup was delicious. The main dish of chicken & beef with vermicelli noodles & salad was ok. The salad came with pickles lol which goes to show the influence of the clientele perhaps. (Should definitely be mentioned in the menu for those who don't like pickles) Ordered the fried banana & that was not at all at all good. Just a simple mushy flour battered over ripe banana with, get this, FAKE MAPLE TABLE SYRUP. I was really looking forward to a nice banana not a nasty over ripe banana , in tempura batter with warm honey & sesame seeds. Crunchy has to be honey!!

Pho Anni was good, though not the best broth I've had. It was still enjoyable but lacked a bit of depth. They're very generous with their meat portions, can't complain about that at all. Service was simple & straightforward.

Was here for lunch, had a yummy spring roll, a hearty bowl of pho Annie, the broth is very well balanced & a nice raspberry lemon cookie to finish it off. Will definitely come back here next time I am in the area.

Average pho broth just need to add hoison & Sriracha sauce to enhance flavor. Good combo value.

I've had the pho three times now & I won't be returning. For some reason, the rice noodles are always cut short & overcooked. The broth isn't very flavourful or rich - it requires a lot of hoisin & Sriracha to give it a good flavour. Nice clean resto & fast service but the pho just doesn't cut it.

After reading the exciting reviews, I decided to go & try their Pho soup. I ended up trying the soup, imperial roll & shrimp tempura. The food was good...I will probably not go again, the broth was a bit bland.

I also found the waiter to be surprisingly standoffish.... & the service was a bit slow in my opinion since there was only one other table awaiting for their food.

🍜✨ Pho Spot - Comfort Bowls & Friendly Vibes ✨🍜

I've been back here a few times now, & honestly, it's become one of my go-to spots in Montréal when the pho craving hits. Each visit has its own little story - here's the breakdown:

👨?🍳 Food Highlights:
• Shrimp tempura = crispy perfection 🦐🔥.
• Spring rolls + dumplings = crunchy, flavorful, & totally addictive 🥟🥢.
• Pho = not the absolute best broth in the city, but solid & generous with the meat 🍲🐂. Would've loved a squeeze of lime for brightness 🍋, but hey - house rules.
• Shrimp dish (Letter H) - fresh, tasty, & my fave from one of my visits.
• Combo deals (pho + imperial roll, or spring roll + beef) are great value 💸👌.

🏠 Ambiance:
• Clean, peaceful, & plenty of seating. Comfortably spaced, not crammed in.
• Even when it's quiet (like Monday afternoons), the vibe is chill & relaxing - perfect for catching up with friends.

🤝 Service:
• Usually friendly & helpful, especially with bigger groups (we were 8 people midweek, & everyone left happy ✨).
• That said, service can be a little inconsistent - once I had to wait to be seated even though it was nearly empty, & ended up grabbing my own menu. Not the end of the world, but a small detail they could polish.

🚗 Practical Notes:
• Prices? Affordable & fair - especially the lunch combos 🥢💵.
• Parking? Classic Montréal headache 🅿?🤦, so plan ahead.

?

👉 Verdict: A solid pho spot with tasty sides, friendly staff, & wallet-friendly combos. Not Michelin-level broth, but you'll leave full, happy, & without breaking the bank. For me, it's a repeat place - & that says a lot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A really good place to get phò, the serving is nice & the price is quite good. I would not say it's the best broth I've ever had, but it is really good. Note that their vegetarian phò is actually really vegetarian, broth & all. I'll have to go back to try the other items on the menu next time. The service is also excellent, very friendly & attentive.

I've been here about 5 times now.

Pros: Nice family owned business with kind hearted people who run the show. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely & you can bring your own wine. The service is very friendly & warm. Overall delicious food (but the pho is mediocre, hit or miss depending on the day).

Cons: The service however is very slow & staggered. For example, it takes time to even get a menu after being seated, getting a server to take our order is long, we get our water after we begin our meals, & we get the pho accoutrements when we are nearly finished eating our meals. The pho is hit or miss. Sometimes the broth is perfect, most times I've been it hasn't been cooked long enough & has a slightly watery taste. It lacks consistency. The bun bo hue lacks lemongrass flavor & spice.

The restaurant has a lot going for them, but they need to step up their game with the front of house service.

Had a craving for pho last night & this place did not disappoint. Savoury broth & large portions. We both had combos with imperial & spring rolls which were both delicious. Lucky to have this gem in NDG. Will go back & try something else as many great options on the menu. Prices very reasonable & staff very friendly!

Great service, fun ambiance but most importantly absolutely incredible pho. Broth is next level, the pho anni has so much delicious meat & chicken pho is incredible too. This family-owned spot is a gem

Me & a friend came across this neighbourhood restaurant for the first time & we discovered they hand down the best soup & menus I've ever had! The broth is rich & flavourful, & the service is always friendly. Pho Anni is now become my go-to spot for Vietnamese cuisine. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, & the quality is exceptional. Pho Anni exceeded my expectations . The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is attentive, & the food is simply delicious. I'll be back again & again! I'd love to see more dessert options besides the delicious banana rolls I had so far, but overall, I'm a big fan from now on.

I just had pho here for the first time, & I'm already hooked! The broth is super flavorful & truly authentic, & the taste is amazing. Honestly, the quality of the food is so good, the prices should be higher. The service was also top-notch-everyone was so friendly & welcoming. This is definitely going to be my go-to pho spot from now on! Highly recommend it!

Stumbled upon this place during a trip. Atmosphere was just typical, nothing fancy . Clean enough. I ordered lunch special combo pho with imperial roll. The roll was good, nice & crispy & good filling. The dipping sauce that came with it was just ok. Pho: meat was tender, taste of it overall was good. The only thing is the broth is a bit oily for what I'm used to. The shrimp crispy noodle with veggie was good. If you're hungry for some quick & good food, not care about ambiance , then this could be something of your liking.
