I tried two sandwiches, both served with potato salad & coleslaw, & everything was delicious. The bread was fresh, the cold cuts were high quality, & the sandwiches were well made. The cannolis were also very good. The only item that wasn't for me was the strawberry cheesecake, which I found a bit dry.
Overall, a great spot with fresh food, & I'd definitely come back.
Honestly extremely disappointed by the service. I called to order a cake for my daughter's baptism. I was told i can only do it in person despite being given an email to send all specifications. My husband called again & asked if it was absolutely necessary to come in person as we live downtown & have a 3 month old. We were told yes. We came & were given a paper to fill & were told we could not get an estimate price or approval or not because the boss was not here. We were told to come back the next day.? Nobody seemed to care about it all.
We ended up choosing another italian bakery for our cake. Never coming back
Six years ago, I gave Dolce Sapori a glowing review because I genuinely loved the place. I even said they gave my longtime favorite cold pizza place a run for its money. The pizza was fantastic, the lasagna was excellent, & I praised the attentive staff & fast service.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same today.
I ordered three pizzas a week in advance: one tomato, one focaccia, & one sausage & potato. When I arrived, it was obvious my order wasn't ready. The employee serving me had to go to the back multiple times & kept coming back to ask for my name. I stood there another 5-10 minutes watching her slowly take a tomato pie & a focaccia from the front display, making it clear my order hadn't been even thought of.
When she came to the counter with only two boxes, it was obvious the sausage & potato pizza had never been made. I was offered to come back later. I needed them now, I ordered them specifically at the time of when I need them. Out of frustration, I took a bacon & onion pizza-something I never would have ordered. When I got home, opened the box this pizza looks incredibly unappetizing, so now I have to finish cooking it myself.
What disappointed me most wasn't just the missing pizza-it was how the situation was handled. There were plenty of staff behind the counter, yet no manager came over to apologize or offer a reasonable solution. Instead, I was expected to come back hours later to pick up a pizza that should have been ready in the first place, despite being ordered a week in advance.
Interestingly, they had no trouble taking my credit card number & charging me immediately when I placed the order. The problem only came when it was time to deliver the service I'd already paid for.
It's a real shame because this used to be one of my favorite cold pizza places. Now it's enough for me to say I won't be back. The food can still be excellent, but great pizza doesn't make up for poor service & a lack of accountability.
