What an absolute gem of a restaurant, with a fantastic (& completely delicious) menu showcasing a lot of seasonal local/regional products. The menu had a lot of options (8 entrées primarily showcasing Quebec vegetables & 8 options with various meat & fish from around the province, the lamb, the duck & the scallop were so divine I may have shed a tear of ecstasy eating them) & 4 amazing desserts (The crème brûlée with coureur des bois was our favorite by far).
The atmosphere is cozy, with dimmed lighting & subtle music playing in the background. The staff is super friendly & super knowledgeable about the menu & we had the pleasure to have Charmelie helping us last night! Thanks!
A year & a half ago, my visit to Ô Thym was absolutely delightful. The restaurant served big portions of perfectly cooked meat at a fair price. However, my recent experience was a stark contrast.
The menu has transitioned to a format where dishes are no longer separated into traditional categories like starters, main courses, & desserts. Instead, it offers a selection of smaller plates that encourage diners to sample a variety of items in one sitting. Unfortunately, these reduced portions left me unsatisfied. For instance, my lamb dish came with hardly any potatoes, & the amount of meat was cut to half, all while the prices remained the same.
To make matters worse, some dishes were served cold.
While the food still retains its delicious flavors, the changes in portion size & temperature left me hungry & disappointed, especially considering the prices. It's disheartening to see such a wonderful place shift its focus away from what made it special in the first place.

Best service in town! All the staff are wonderful! Food is fresh & delicious by far! It's a must visit! & don't forget to bring your own bottle of wine!
O'Tym has been a standout Montreal BYOW restaurant for many years. In my fist post-pandemic visit to Montreal it was a must try. The menu has a good balance of meat, seafood, & vegetarian dishes. We brought a good bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc to enjoy with the seafood, & we had an outstanding meal. The food is fresh, tasty, inventive, imaginative & makes good use of local ingredients & seafood from Quebec & NB.
It was a lovely & romantic evening with wonderful service & atmosphere. Highly recommended!
