Review Summary

Reviews of Onigiri Shop generally highlight fresh, generously filled onigiri at a good value, with large portions and a wide variety of fillings that many find delicious. The service is repeatedly praised as friendly and attentive, helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a solid overall experience. A number of diners feel the staff are kind and helpful, and several comment that the ambiance is cozy and suitable for a casual bite. However, there are cautions about inconsistency in texture and flavor, with some onigiri being too rice heavy, fillings unevenly distributed, or seasoning off, and a few dishes missing balance or crunch. A few reviewers also raise operational issues, including hygiene concerns in kitchen areas and, in some cases, language or promotional miscommunications. Overall, Onigiri Shop is seen as an affordable, fresh option worth returning to for many, though quality and execution can vary and a handful of experiences fall short of expectations.

I took the salmon one & the miso beef one, to my sad surprise inside the salmon one there was only salmon with spiced mayo, it just simply misses flavors, the rice was smooth & the nori was crunchy (wich is just perfect), some green onions & some sesame inside would have been just the little kick it needed, same for the beef one,

the staff was really friendly & cool, really good service

Absolutely loved my experience here. The sushi was incredibly fresh & beautifully presented - every piece felt like it was made with real care. The rolls were flavorful & well-balanced, not overloaded with rice like many other places. The staff were kind, attentive, & made great recommendations. The atmosphere was calm & welcoming, perfect for both a casual meal or a special night out. If you're a sushi lover, this spot is definitely worth visiting.

My first time in this chain. The staff was courteous & service was great.
I ordered the crispy chicken onigiri.
It had a good size. Taste was good, a bit spicy. Rice & nori had good taste & texture. However, concerning the crispy chicken, batter was not crunchy, the meat was a bit hard & there weren't much meat.
It had too much rice, in my opinion. So overall, it felt dry in my mouth. Fortunately, there was lemon water (& plain) to help quench my thirst.
Hopefully, the other flavours are more balanced in texture & ingredients.

I had a fresh spicy Tuna from Onigiri Shop at a café earlier this year, & it was delicious.

In comparison, the onigiri at this location was a disaster. Perhaps at this particular hour, the staff were inexperienced, but what they served was borderline inedible.

I ordered the spicy salmon & was recommended the Ebi Tempura. Setting aside the presentation, which was a quickly wrapped ball of rice that didn't match the takeaway images, the taste, in my opinion is the most important, & it was lacking. The onigiri also fell apart while I was trying to eat it, which made the experience frustrating.

The spicy salmon filling itself was good, however, it was wrapped in the equivalent of three portions of rice. I had to remove the excess rice to make the meal enjoyable.

The Ebi Tempura was essentially a greasy mayo rice ball, with the same excessive amount of rice, & its presentation was also disappointing.

As I could have made two more onigiri with the leftover rice on my plate, I believe new workers would benefit from using an onigiri mold or something similar to learn the correct rice-to-filling ratio.

Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience, & I'm unsure if I will return anytime soon.
