When I entered the restaurant, the server saw me but didn't acknowledge so I had to seat myself. That's fine, but I waited for some time & realized no one is coming to take the order so I had to get up & go to the server to ask for a menu. He apologized & said that he didn't realize I was a client. I thought no big deal. It happens.
The worst part was the payment. Once I was done eating, I asked for the bill. He brought the payment terminal, showed me the amount before I could tap my card. I selected'No tip' & was about to tap my card, but he stopped me, restarted the transaction, & SELECTED 18% TIP on his own right in front of me, & asked me to pay. I refused & he asked me why I don't want to tip. It doesn't matter why. Tips are optional. This is extortion, & I won't be recommending this place. Search the reviews & you'll see many others had similar experience.
The food was good, hence I'm not giving it 1 star.
Mardin Palace Restaurant in Laval is a true hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic Middle Eastern/Turkish cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with warm hospitality & a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere.
The food is outstanding - fresh, flavorful, & clearly prepared with care. The grilled meats are perfectly cooked, tender, & well-seasoned, & the portions are generous. The appetizers are just as impressive, especially the mezes, which are full of traditional flavors. Everything tastes homemade & high quality.
The service deserves special mention. The staff are attentive, friendly, & always happy to explain the menu or make recommendations. Orders arrive on time, & the overall experience feels relaxed & enjoyable.
Whether you're dining with family, friends, or hosting a small gathering, Mardin Palace is an excellent choice. Consistently delicious food, great service, & fair prices make this restaurant one of the best in Laval. Highly recommended!
Excellente soirée passé ce samedi avec la star Mourad Bouriqui on s'est envolé avec sa voix magique talentueuse ainsi que ces belles chansons orientales & marocaines , la nourriture manquait des petites entrées que d'habitude mais avec l'ambiance c'était impeccable .
The food was soooo finger licking good, & soooo much we couldn't finish the last bowl of rice.... The chicken was so tasty & tender, the adana kebab was awsome, a personal recommendation, try this mix
Also the cosy ambience & welcoming employees was the best....
Nous avons passé un moment absolument incroyable ! Nous avons organisé le party de notre entreprise pendant les fêtes, du début à la fin, a été exceptionnelle. Le propriétaire & le serveur étaient tous les deux parfaits ! Nous avons dansé toute la nuit & avons passé une soirée inoubliable !

I reserved a table for my birthday 🎂 & it was the best experience, the manager took really good care of us & the music , the candles..... thank you Mardin palace for making my birthday unforgettable 🥰
J'ai fêté l'anniversaire de ma copine avant-hier & c'était vraiment parfait. La salle était magnifique, le serveur très accueillant & la nourriture délicieuse. L'ambiance était chaleureuse & nous avons passé un excellent moment. Je recommande vivement !

J'ai rarement vécu une expérience aussi agréable dans un restaurant. Dès que tu entres, tu remarques tout de suite le soin dans le décor : lumières chaudes, ambiance orientale élégante, musique douce & une atmosphère qui te transporte directement en Turquie. C'est raffiné, chaleureux, & on s'y sent bien tout de suite.
Le service est exceptionnel. Le personnel t'accueille avec le sourire, prend le temps de bien t'expliquer les plats, & reste disponible sans jamais être envahissant. L'attention aux détails est remarquable : verre toujours rempli, timing parfait entre les plats & une vraie envie de te faire passer un bon moment.
& parlons de la nourriture. C'est tout simplement incroyable. Le pain chaud qui arrive à table est à tomber : croustillant dehors, moelleux dedans. Les entrées sont savoureuses, fraîches & parfaitement assaisonnées. Les viandes sont tendres, juteuses, grillées à la perfection avec ce parfum authentique du charbon & des épices turques. Rien n'est lourd ou trop gras, mais chaque bouchée a du goût & de la personnalité. Les portions sont généreuses & on repart rassasié & heureux.
Même les desserts & le thé turc viennent compléter l'expérience avec finesse. On sent qu'ici, tout est fait pour que tu repartes satisfait & que tu aies envie de revenir.
En résumé, Mardin Palace est un sans-faute. Ambiance chaleureuse, service attentionné, cuisine exceptionnelle. Idéal autant pour un souper romantique que pour une soirée entre amis ou en famille. C'est le genre d'endroit où tu ressors avec le sourire en te disant que tu reviendras, sans hésiter.

we went there for a birthday with no reservations. they found us a table even tho it wasn't really empty in there. great service nice staff amazing food. all round a 5 stars experience .
We planned my mother-in-law's surprise 60th birthday here & it was a great experience. We were a group of 24 people & the staff was very helpful & accommodating. We had a great time singing along with the entertainer & dancing with the belly dancer. The food was great & the service was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Authentic Turkish experience! The food was delicious & traditional, full of flavor & perfectly cooked. The evening show was a real surprise - a beautiful dancer, a great singer, & lively Arabic music that got everyone up & dancing. What amazed me most: not a single drop of alcohol, yet people were genuinely having fun, laughing, celebrating naturally. A joyful, family-friendly atmosphere & a true taste of Turkish culture. I'll definitely come back!
