I had a great experience overall at this seafood restaurant. The seafood was fresh, well-prepared, & cooked perfectly. The sauce was definitely the highlight of the meal ,it was rich, flavorful, & paired so well with the seafood. As a Haitian, I pay a lot of attention to seasoning, & I have to give them a 10/10 for the seasoning. They really know how to bring out the flavors without overpowering the food.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the rice was a little disappointing. It needed more salt & tasted a bit plain compared to the rest of the meal. Once I mixed it with the sauce & seafood, it was much better, but on its own, it could definitely use a little more flavor.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal & would happily come back. If they improve the rice, this place would easily be a perfect 5-star seafood spot for me. Highly recommended for anyone who loves well-seasoned seafood! 🦀🍤🐟

Dining at Mr. Cajun is less of a meal & more of a test of spiritual fortitude-an endurance sport for the hungry.
Upon arriving, I was not immediately greeted, but rather treated to an exclusive performance of staff cleaning tables. I sat for 15 minutes, watching them sanitize surfaces with the precision of a surgeon, but with the urgency of a sloth in a warm bath. It was truly mesmerizing, though I did find myself pondering if I could have learned a second language in the time it took to be acknowledged.
Once the order was placed, I eagerly awaited my drinks, only to discover that at Mr. Cajun, hydration is considered a structural component of the main course rather than a preamble. The beverages arrived in perfect synchronicity with the food-which, let's be honest, takes a significant amount of time to prepare. In fact, I did the math: had I brought a rod & reel to the St. Lawrence River instead of sitting in that booth, I likely could have caught, filleted, & seasoned my own seafood in less time than it took for the kitchen to produce my order.
However, herein lies the paradox that makes this place so infuriatingly good: the food is actually delicious. It is a classic culinary hostage situation. You are held captive by the glacial pace of the service, yet you are coerced into returning simply because the flavors are undeniably on point.
If you have a free afternoon, a high tolerance for waiting, & a deep appreciation for top-tier Cajun cooking, this is your place. Just bring a book-or perhaps a fishing pole.
