Across the reviews, MR CAJUN is described as a lively, family friendly spot offering fresh seafood, bold Cajun flavors, generous portions, and great value for the price, with many customers raving about fast, attentive service and a festive bayou atmosphere. The concept of serving seafood boils on paper with gloves and bibs gets mixed reactions, praised for its fun, interactive vibe by some and noted as unusual by others. The staff are commonly described as friendly, welcoming, and professional, contributing to a positive dining experience, though there are occasional reports of slower service or missteps, especially during busy periods or with takeout. The food consistently earns high marks for freshness, seasoning, and generous portions, with several entries highlighting the quality of seafood, the variety of options, and the flavorful sauces, particularly cajun blends that wake the palate. The ambiance, decor, and music add to the celebratory feel, and the venue is frequently recommended for families and groups looking for a lively night out, while a few comments mention temperature issues inside the dining area or price concerns. Overall, MR CAJUN is portrayed as a worthwhile seafood destination with standout service and a memorable, if sometimes polarizing, dining experience.
Mr. Cajun is hands down one of the best seafood boil spots I've ever had. I literally come all the way from Ottawa just to eat here, & it hits every single time. The flavors are bold, perfectly seasoned, & everything tastes fresh & cooked just right. You can tell they put real care into their food. If you're in laval & love a good seafood boil, this place is 100% worth it.
The service was extremely deficient. They neglected us the entire time: we had to ask for water twice & still didn't get it served, then never got our drinks served either. We had to get up 4 times to go up to the counter & ask why everything was taking so long. We waited an hour for our food to be served. The shrimp was mushy & mussels hard & dry, a sign that everything was overcooked. That said, the sauce for the boiled seafood was very tasty. In speaking with the table next to us, they also waited an hour, & said they left without ever getting one of their orders served. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
